Patience, there is still more to come - it's not the end...and you can still drive carsHonestly? i feel a teeny bit let down by this "big update", I love bikes, i loved motoracer and have been looking for a replacement for ages, but, i bought Driveclub to drive cars, i bought a steering wheel to drive cars, ive been waiting for the update with excitement hoping for new tracks, cars etc and we got bikes, now don't get me wrong i bought it and played it and liked it but honestly now i think i'm over it, i got to the first trophy after playing for enough stars and switched off halfway through, ive turned it on today played one single event and turned off. May be that i'm being grumpy this does happen to me at this time of year but... I WANT THE BIG UPDATE. haha
Have to say that Driveclub is an excellent arcade game, not a simulator...Bought the pack and played it for the first time tonight, and I'm very disappointed tbh. I think my problem is I was expecting this to be up to the same standard as the rest of the game, and it just isn't at all. The graphics are beautiful of course, but the physics are soooooo bad .
I have tried to get used to it, and no doubt I will, as I will be finishing the bike tour to try to get my money's worth out of it, but the immediate impression I got was "this feels a lot like riding the bikes in GTAV".
I was expecting it to at least approach Tourist Trophy levels of realism, but it's not even on the same planet. You can slam the stick around as much as you like without upsetting the bike's balance, you can slam the throttle hard on, actually I found this is the fastest way around corners, as you get a tiny bit of oversteer that makes the bike turn in better when you slam the throttle down mid corner, and the stoppies and wheelies are hilariously unrealistic, to the point I actually did laugh out loud when I did the first skill challenge thingy.
Braking, unlike on a real bike, is done all at the last minute, and then you can smash the throttle shortly after finishing with the brakes, which makes the bike kind of drift a little bit, and then without any change of inputs, the bike settles itself down and the corner is done. None of this even remotely resembles riding a motorbike, which makes it feel so foreign.
In a racing game I would rate a solid 9/10, this expansion would rate no higher than a 4/10 from me. Not worth buying IMO, and I say that as a massive Driveclub fan.

The same with the bikes, i really didn't even expect a tourist trophy with it.
The physics are completely arcade, and made for having lots of fun Racing along the track's
Amazing how fast you can go with the bikes, nice DLC, for me it's really the money worth.
I know DC is an arcade racer, but its physics are still rooted in realism. Instead of being completely foreign, it feels like exaggerated realism, like the brakes and tyres are overpowered. The bikes just feel completely wrong to me, and certainly aren't up to the standard of the cars in the game.
With that said, I'm sure it'll be fun for a bit of a bash, but I was expecting more.
I'm loving Bikes! The gameplay reminds me so much of Project Gotham Racing 4... and I consider it high praise, because it's FUN and extremely enjoyable to drive fast. I even made a little video... "practicing ninjitsu"...

I guess the lack of crashes and bike rider flying off is because of the age rating. You can't have a PG3 game showing people getting smoshed flying off a bike. It was the same with Burnout Paradise. On the Bike crashes thing or lack thereof I suspect that it's an issue of resources. I'm picking the rider and bike are one object and to have the rider come off the bike they would then have to be separate objects which would effectively double the number of objects the game engine is processing. If that's the case it may be that they would have to sacrifice elements to make it work - reduce the number of opponents or dumb down graphical elements to cope. With car crashes there are no body panels that fall off or anything and you can get away with that but with a bike crash you can't really get away without the rider coming off - end result no bike crashes.
Maybe @Rushy33 could enlighten us?
So each bike handles quite differently MeanElf?I really like the system of unlocking the bikes, specifically needing to level certain ones to 5 to unlock another - you get to know its quirks and ways during the five levels, so it's not just get it unlock and ride like an ass online.
I wished some of the Audi and BMW drivers around here had to undergo a similar process, rather than just buying the damn thing
It's what I suggested for the main game, driving a car a lot earns the "better" version. Agera R to One:1, Huayra to Zonda R, 458 to Speciale. You get the point.I really like the system of unlocking the bikes, specifically needing to level certain ones to 5 to unlock another - you get to know its quirks and ways during the five levels, so it's not just get it unlock and ride like an ass online.
