Indeed, but seeing as SMS was brough up here, I'd make it a point to call them out on it. Hopefully, they'll suffer such horrible sales that they won't get another chance. But that's unlikely to happen I guess.

The fact that you're wishing for the failure for what looks to be the most exciting thing to happen to the console racing genre in practically a decade is misguided at best.

I think he posted that because they made some cars exclusive to the Limited Edition, cars built from funding of the game.

Funding a game though doesn't give you carte blanche to control every aspect of its development. You still leave it up to the developers to decide what content gets prioritized for release and what gets shelved for DLC or the Limited Edition, etc. Either way, pCars is shaping up to be a huge experience with or without those handful of cars, so I don't really see why that would be a cause for so much outrage.

Believing that it is okay for a developer to leave out any content that is done before the release of a game, only so that they can nickle and dime their consumers, is exactly why the gaming industry is going to 🤬. It's this kind of absurd thinking that reasult in developers leaving out essential parts of the game, just so that they can make an extra buck or two. What SMS has done, is literally no different that a dev who decides to leave out the last part of their single player campaign to release it as day one DLC.

It's incredibly anti consumer, and it baffles me how anyone could possibly be blind enough to support such a thing.

These cars have been done for a long time. They were advertised as being in the game for a long time. Suddenly making them exclusive to those who pay more, is utter BS.

The game industry must have been going to 🤬 for a long time because I can remember buying the NFS Carbon Collectors Edition in 2006 which had a few extra cars for a bit more money.

Let me ask you something. Have you noticed that more and more devs/publishers are doing this? Or are you blind to that fact? In 2006 it was relatively rare. Now, it's "normal", which is exactly why people need to stand up to oppose it, rather than bring up weak arguements for why it's okay to do so.

I actually agree, but this isnt the pcars section.

So, any news on the game that I checked this thread for? To be honest, I m a bit puzzled that there is seemingly not a lot of PR fuzz about the game, seeing that its release is so close. Huh?

Does this game have a fully customizable livery editor? Or is it pre-made crap? If it's the former, then that might be incentive for me to buy it (If I get a PS4, that is; I still need some mileage on my PS3).

not a full blown editor but from what I understand it has some sort of editor.

Unfortunately, it is preset vinyls.

Also, those parts in the presentation video where Rushy freeze-frames the game into a sort-of panoramic photo mode. I wonder how we will be able to trigger that, that would be amazing for montages. Hopefully it also allows continuous motion of gameplay while in photo mode, would be a great way to create day/night time-lapse videos.

Seriously, they need to bring a video replay feature to the game in one of those free updates, the camera control in that would be awesome.

And hopefully we get more camera options like GT, there was no options when he triggered photomode in the demo.

I read on one of their PS blog entires that actual photomode, the full thing wouldn't be in the game straight off the bat. It was in the DLC article.

Jamie Brayshaw - Driveclub PS Blog:
...We’re already working hard to develop free updates that will introduce a powerful weather system (that you can play around with to change the dynamics of every race) and a photo mode, because they’ve both been requested ever since we first showed how you can control the time of day and skies in the game.

In the menatime, the PS+ menu vid in post #1420 there appear to be shopping basket icons dotted all over the show. I'm guessing that those might indicate where DLC content is, or will be at some date as it's even on the rookie level. Anyone know anything more about that?

The sense of speed in this game is phenomenal; I'll be happy getting the PS Plus version of the game. Shelling out for the full version seems very possible now, although it may be cheaper to get it off the US store without PS+ than it is to get it on the NZ store with PS+.
Nevermind. :ouch:

I really need to lower my expectations for games these days. :guilty:
You can always get Forza Horizon 2. :sly:

It'll be my fourth game on disc, we have more in digital form at present though. This is why I'm going for the full version (disc space and because I want to play the whole game :))

There still could be a massive install tho, I have NBA 2K14 and KZ on disc and both take up more room than digital copies of Watchdogs/TLoU/Destiny!

Yeah, I'd forgotten how many of these games don't read from disc now, but from the DL file which installs with the game...
