Driving Challenges (Nurburgring)

If you were to divide the Nurburgring into 12 sections from start to finish, these 12 challenges are what you'd get. There's no full-lap challenge--each challenge simply tackles a section of the track. P-1 starts at the start/finish line, and Q-6 ends at the start/finish line. Altogether, they comprise a full lap.

Also, you're in the same car for all 12 challenges, so it's very easy to continue doing well after you get a good grasp on handling it.

The Nurburgring is a bloody tough track and is fun when you get it right,

I bought the Gran Turismo Special Edition, and got the Bugatti Veyron. I can tell you one thing, that car isnt built for that track at all, it barely stays on the road on some parts. I managed to get a 6:52 around the Ring in the Veyron, but i reckon some cars with half the power of the veyron can make it around the ring in the same time cause they are a little bit more flexible, and you can hold the speed with them around the corners a bit more.

Im really loving this game atm, especially the drift challenge option.

Nice time! Best I managed in the Veyron was 7:25, due to a few spins. I would have got near your time in the Ford GT, but mis-timed my braking coming off the straight and came to a dead stop against the armco barrier - leaving me with a 7:30 time, or if it were reality, a nice tombstone.

Back on topic, I finished the Nurburgring challenges the other day. It's not too difficult once you get used to the way the M5 handles.

Thanks everyone.
I'm currently studying the ring one section at a time in Time Trial mode.
The best I've done so far is a 1:50 split time (Adenauer Forst) on a Nissan GT-R SpecV'09.

I still have a lot to study if I'm to make a sub 7:30 time.

With a 1:50 split at Adenauer Forst you are easily on track for a sub 7:30. :)

What tyres are you on?

Thanks, Jay.
Glad to hear I'm on the right track.
I'm using R3 tyres, TCS = 8, ASM = Off, Active Steering = Off, Pro physics.

I tried a lap a couple days ago with the Spec V on S2's (keeping the same default tyre as GT4) no aids, getting a 1'51.xxx (IIRC) at the Adenauer Forst split and final time was 7'25.xxx.

To be honest I think that sort of TCS would be slowing you down on corner exit especially at low speed, have you tried the Spec V without it? It helps (is most often faster too) to select a gear above the recommended. Otherwise maybe drop the TCS a little lower but yeah with a 1:50 you are well on track. :)

I got 7mins flat with the 2000 AU Ford Falcon V8 Supercar, that car does good on that track tbh. More stable than the Veyron.
