It's a prologue. Police chases the protagonist in his tuned Mark II when he arrived to the city, catches him and arrests his car. So he has to start his street racing career again, in the new city - Irkutsk. The first car is Lada 2106.

A normal old Lada 2102 (the Soviet clone of the Fiat 124 Familiare).

BTW, the FD is pretty rare in my area. I only remember seeing three in the city (two on events and one on a parking). However, my friend from Tver has a friend who owns an FD. It was like this two years ago:

In my country we have mostly right hand drive cars so it's easier to park like this Silvia.
