maybe this isnt directly related but i really dislike how the computer ai drives
what i mean is that beleive or not i cant remember all the corners of every track especially the ring but also in terms of speed for differeypes of cars
i have a hard time trying to stay in teir line at their pace - i watch the inputs on the replay and they brake as hard as they can for like half a second for most corners and then jsut have a set limit and acc aftre they get out of the corner
i hope im not the only one who notices or maybe i just need to change my style

I can't really describe my driving style. You have to 'feel' the car and you adjust the way you drive to make the fastest laps. It differs per track/car.

Kent said something similar. If you don't understand what I say, his post can explain it better.

Hi guys, here I am again after a long pause.:)

I use different styles for different cars,
also sometimes I drive really rough to make drifts and try things with the car you normally won't. In that way I also keep it exciting.

Cheers.

Hi there, this is my first post on these forums. :)

I've been looking around, and i've seen posts about really fast racers on GT4. What driving style do you use, do you trail brake into corners, do you coast round, or do you keep throttle on all the time? Steering, do you use full lock, or just partly? Share your driving styles.

Again welcome to GTPLANET. Its just a matter of studying the tracks for slow vs fast corners, & hard braking corners.

But then again drift racing's a bit more technical.

WITH RACING ITS, SLOW IN, HARD OUT..................

My racing style is not that bad, Sometimes i get beaten, But im a patient racer if i know im gonna beat'em I just go faster thru the corners. My fav technique is to outbrake my opponents. my fav race car is the XANAVI GTR skyline.

SLOW IN, HARD OUT
( reminds me of my girlfriend ) LOL

If you use the same technique over and over again then it does get boring. I try to change my style and see how much faster/slower i am. It is really fun.

Yeah I know what you mean, I'm starting to swap out my techniques so I'm constantly improving my overall skill :) . BTW, do any of you start getting worse if you drive the same way too long? because this is happening to me.

Haha, I´ve done it! 15 minutes, but I actually had a spinoff!! :dunce: The model T has a lot of lift off oversteer, so It was bound to happen. Well it has on the ring, as you freewheel a lot.

It was quite a handful on Trial Mountain too. On the rare occasions where you manage to enter a corner too fast in the T, the balance is oversteer, even under power. Turn a little, car changes direction. Turn more, front wheels grip, rear ones don't. Looks hilarious in photos :)

Just been reading this thread and got me thinking...

Im not sure i even have a "style" of driving to be honest, I know that i like my cars to generally be set up neutral and biased slightly towards the softer side of medium as i like to feel what happening in the cars attitude at corners, but as for my style i had never really considered it, I think as Kent said best not to pigeon hole yourself into having a certain style and try more to adapt to cars and circuits in turn........but i think knowing how you like to set up cars up in general can give you an idea of what style you lean towards, maybe mine is the "try it and hope for the best style"! ??

regards

Dave

I often brake very late and run wide in the early part of the corner and have a square exit to minimise tyre wear and have good straight line speed. It is also useful for overtaking because I can be fast on the straight and brake under them. I just have to keep thenm out around the corner

The AI is pretty easy to outbrake. The problem is that even though they brake way early, they still find a way to run into the back of you

Sadly, I worry less about driving style. I really care very little about throttle control during corners, smooth acceleration and braking.. I worry more about winning.. Oh BTW, I use DS2 so.. that's maybe why. If I could afford it, i'd buy the cockpit and DFP
