DrivingForce EX, looking left!!

First of all, my ps2 is old, but it's a ps2 so it can't be that old. Anyway, when playing GT4 the game will look left and I can't race like that, then when I exit the game the d-pad won't work at all. There's 2 usb ports on my ps2 and the second one just doesn't work, I use the first usb port. Should I buy a new ps2, a new wheel or can this all be solved cheaply?

It plays fine with a dual shock but that doesn't test the usb ports.

Make sure your Dual Shock controller is plugged in when you are using the DFP. With mine, my D-Pad doesn't work properly on the wheel unless the Dual Shock is plugged in as well. Give that a try.

Probably a stupid question, but did you check your wheel settings in game?

The second USB is for second player so it is normal that it won't work in GT mode if you wan't to check it try Arcade mode 2p. Look at you settings and if they're all good unplug the wheel and try to race with just the Dual Shock controller.
