I suspect a November release. I would have hoped early Nov which would be nice timing for my birthday, but perhaps not. At any rate it still is too far away for me. June/July would be sweet but I never thought that'd be a reality.

Well, if the "information from the publisher" part is to be believed, November certainly fits in nicely with the 2010 holiday season. I really can't see the point in releasing it any earlier - gives them plenty of time to "finish" the game and coordinate a global release, although I can easily see Europe getting pushed back to late November/early December.

Don't get me wrong, I'll be happy to see it earlier, but nothing I've read to date has suggested anything other than late 2010.

A global release of end october begin november will be the best option imo. If not then an early 2011 release like feb./mar.

I'm guessing december. They said 2010 and I imagine they'll push it as far back as possible.
I agree they'll be wanting it as late as possible, so I am estimating either:

- Global release end of first week in December, or
- Slightly staggered release (Japan late October, before US before Thanksgiving in November, and Europe before Christmas in December)

I would be happy with that as an announcement, and if it gets here sooner, even better.

I guessed August. If I it is released I will want a lot of time to play it. The heat is unbearable for me so I would want to stay inside and play some GT5.

I think it will be October, 1 month past most rumered release dates. But there is a rumered release date for Japan of June 3 months earlier, which sounds over the top and pointless, and it probally is wrong as it isn't official, but this is the link anyway http://www.vgreleases.com/ps3/ReleaseDate-25101.aspx

The only reason I can think of for this is so they can change the language but I couldn't imagine it being a 3 month job.

I hope not anyway!:nervous:

I'm sure that they have been developing this in at least Japanese and English at the same time. Europe could be a stumbling block, resulting in us getting it a bit later, but we'll have to see. I hope not!

If Sony are pushing 3D in August I would like to think they would use GT5 as a sales tool.

I'm not interested in 3D myself at this point but I hope this is the case.

Interesting to see that Jordan posted in another thread about last years E3 and that he had a good idea there wasn't going to be any news. Thats the reason he used for not going.

The worry was that he then said he wasn't sure about going this year either! I hope thats just because he is busy and not that he has the same feeling.

I think/hope that language is not a delay factor on a game like this. They are developing this game for more than 5 years now. I think there is a seperate team that does the language thing. And a lot of it can come from previous GT's. I am from Holland Europe and i really dont care about playing this or any other game in dutch. I hope it will be a global release.

No its not the language the "delay factor" even if there ever was one except from marketing

It's not.

This has been discussed already. In a video interview Yamauchi confirmed (he was pretty confident) that the japanese and european version (english, french, italian, spanish, german, etc...) would be ready at the same time.
Language is not an issue.

Well, all that I really want is to play the game, so I'll get it even it's in japanese, however an English version released simultaneously together with the japanese one would be a dream.

I can't imagine why else a game would be 3 months later in one country than another, so the only other reason that I can think of is because it's wrong. It isn't official so it probably is.

At TGS 2009 he also confirmed a March 2010 release for Japan...

I'm sure that the languages have already been taken care of, but if not, I just hope they do not cause too much of a gap between launches.

The sad thing is that I had to wait for many games already because of 'localisation' and I HATE playing games in German, or in GT's case in a horrible mixture between English and German. :nervous:

Oh, which month? I say September 2012.

....

;)
