Dynasty Warriors Origins Releasing 1/17/25

Koei is rebooting the Dynasty Warriors series. The last game they released Dynasty Warriors 9 was a failure in many people's eyes. Bland empty open world very buggy when released too many clones, they changed the combat, took away weapons from some characters and made them DLC etc... I love DW9 myself in spite of it's many flaws so when I first heard about Origins I was a little shocked that you couldn't as any of the normal characters except for a short time. You could only play as some nameless wanderer. Then they removed a lot of fan favorites and you have 9 weapons to choose from. But after seeing some trailers I am starting to get hyped about it. I have been a Dynasty Warriors fan since rented DW2 way back when. It looks like the finally be able to get a large number of soldiers on screen like they promised way back when and combat looks really good. They have a demo coming out on 11/22 and I plan on downloading it

DW has always been a guilty pleasure but every iteration is largely the same for the most part aside from recently. It's always been a fun couch-coop game though, but with this focusing on one sole character, I wonder if they'll remove that?

That is a good question. But you're couch coop has been one of my favorite parts of Dynasty Warriors. First it was me & my older brother then with my niece & nephews now with my children.

Same here, was me and my brothers when we were young. Now I throw it on every once in a while when friends come over to cook/drink. Hopeful for this one at least, lets see how it goes.

That would be ashamed if they removed that because the combat in this game looks really good.
