So hell yeah,I wanted to play zone of the enders since quite a long time ago.
as for MGS 2 and MGS3 they are both going to 360,Kojima was also taking about the Transfarring systems which allows you to play PW on both PSP and PS3,I own peace walker and I have to say that an HD version of PW is way better than MGS4,so is worth a look.

BTW the video has an English version but I haven't found it yet,is quite funny to watch thought.

Any word on the first MSG games getting an HD treatment for the PS3?

MGS 1 might get HD treatment, but for the NGP apparently,as for old SNES no word was said.

I also forgot to mention the "Fox Engine" which will be the game engine that Kojima productions game's will be using from now on.

Pretty awesome. More excited about the HD rereleases of Silent Hill 2 and 3 though. :D

First MGS won't get the treatment likely because there would be too much work involved.

And why would you want blurry-textured polygons to be made more clear that it is indeed blurry-textured polygons?

Why does this have to come out in November?!? I'm going to go broke with all the stuff coming out.

Yes. And the result was a dramatically inferior game.

I wouldn't call it "inferior". The problem was that many of us played the living hell out of the game. What was their left to experience? You're never going to experience it the same way as you did the first time.

As far as the game appearing on the PS3 in HD, I doubt it. There's probably some contractual issues that would prevent it.

I remember for the the Tomb Raider: Anniversary game they remade the original with better graphics and changed up the gameplay to make it fresh for those that have played to death on the PS1. I wouldn't mind seeing the same thing for MSG1. Would be interesting to see what they come up with.

I wouldn't call it "inferior".
Worse voice acting. Worse script. Worse cutscene direction. Worse controls (though this would be irrelevant if it was ported to the PS360). And the free-aim ability destroyed the difficulty, absolutely ruining more than one boss fight and eliminating the need to play it as a stealth game.

The original games were not on snes. They were on the MSX which was a japanese only console. I have played a terrible game called "snakes revenge". I believe it was on the nes, but it was unofficial and non-canon. The 2 games that came with MGS3 subsistence were the MSX games.

Wasn't MGS1 remade for GameCube?

Would be cool if they threw that version in.

The twin snakes was terrible. Snake jumping on a missile in flight says everything you need to say about this game.

Personally, I can't wait to play ZOE 1, ZOE 2 (extremely underrated game), MGS2 and MGS3 again.

Personally, I'm psyched that I'll be finally be able to play Peace Walker. They say it's an amazing game but alas, I never bought a PSP (or PSV) nor will I.

Again, I have to agree with basically everything you said, ZOE series is just so awesome, I found number 1 to be very good, but ZOE2 just BLEW my mind, the graphics, the controls, the cut-scenes and this futuristic-anime music...ahhh I LOVE this game, I'm serious, I believe I played it through like 6 or 7 times, my record being at under 2 hours without all the cut-scenes and with the "uber-jehuty".

God I HAVE to get this in HD to play on my FULL-HD TV and 5.1 system, can't wait!

Here be ZOE2 spoilers
The music was amazing. It's been years since I've played ZOE2, so my terminology may be incorrect, but the fight against the fleet of ships was immense. Plus the minefield section, the battle against anubis, the battle with Viola, seeing a grown up Leo, the fight with the scientist (who's name i can't remember) and I remember there being this massive battle that was really intense. I cannot wait for ZOE2. I think it's right up there with MGS and MGS3 as Kojima's best. I only hope they use the same music and voice acting.

Funnily enough, I only came across the remake as I was showing my girlfriend some of my favourite games. I showed her the same 7 minute ZOE2 trailer that I used to watch on a daily basis. My girlfriend is japanese, so she looked for info on ZOE2 in her native language to see if it rung any bells and her search revealed an article on the HD version.

As for ZOE 1, I only bought it for the MGS2 demo. I didn't really touch ZOE1 for about a week. It was a good game, but the second was one of those rare, perfect games.

Kojima dropped a few tweets about the HD collection with little details about the Metal Gear HD collection.

One big item on the list is that there is a difference between the "Western" version of the collection(NA and EU) and Japan. If you are looking to import the collection for Peace Walker, don't bother. You won't find it there. What you will find instead is MGS2, 3, and a code that will allow you to download the Japanese version of MGS. Peace Walker HD will be sold separately in Japan.

Another big item on the list is that MGS 2 and MGS 3 will be their big brothers, the Substance and Subsistence versions respectively. This also means, if Siliconera is to be believed, this will also include the original MSX versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.

For those worried about trophy support across all games, don't worry. Kojima tweeted an image previewing the trophy icons for the collection. Yes, the games support trophies. View them here:

You bring tidings of joy, friend.

Great news. Day one purchase! I believe one of the improvements of the original MGS3 to its subsistence counterpart, is better 3rd person camera controls. A welcome change indeed. I honestly can't wait to re-play 3 and play Peacewalker, as I don't have a PSP.

Glad I can help.

To be honest, I was going to spend my November gaming money on the new Assassins Creed game, but after hearing that PS360 owners can have another bite of the MSX Metal Gear games just made my day and turned it into a day one purchase.

Twin snakes is absolutly atrocious and that is on the gamecube not on ps3 or xbox360 ( as far as I know)

Probably due to graphics engine issues, we've already got a better version of it.

Better graphics, maybe. The Twin Snakes was ridiculous. I'd rather the collection didn't have any version of MGS1 than them adding in that monstrosity.

What's up with all the hate for this version? I never played it but what could Konami have possibly done to it, to make it "inferiour" to the PS1 counterpart? loul fill me in

Well, assuming you have played the original, please read on. If not, the following contains slight spoilers. The cutscenes were ridiculous. When Snake makes it to the roof of the tower, the Hind Fires a missile at him. At this point, Snake jumps ridiculously high in the air, then lands on top of the missile and jumps off of it.

In other words, the whole game was like some cheesy MGS/matrix crossover. Which was unnecessary.

Oh. That is stupid indeed. Sigh.
