Yes. Maybe a slight exaggeration labelling it "monstrous, atrocious" etc. It was a pretty good game (barring the awful cutscenes), but 99% of MGS fans who have played both will go for the original. Had they just done a straightforward port of MGS in MGS2's graphics engine, it could have been a pretty good game.

It wasn't all bad though. I bought a gamecube purely for the twin snakes. I was initially disappointed, but got to play some classic games I would have otherwise missed out on.

Erm why the hell is MGS HD being delayed til Feb next year in Europe?!! :/

Is it possible to get the game in the US working on my ps3 here or wont it work like reigon 1&2 dvds??

I have no idea. It's possible the Euro version will have extra content, however my local independent store has US copies. Impressively, they had them for the North American release date.

Yes, but be careful, some Blu Rays films will be restricted. American games will work, but you're taking the (admittedly small) chance that you may miss out on some UK exclusive content.

I just jumped into Peace Walker the other day. Really fun game. I was going to go in number order, but I figured I already went from MGS to MGS4 so what's it going to hurt. I dig the little RPG elements. Multiplayer is pretty much like MGO only smaller in scale, and being new I'm suffering from having crappy gear. I'll probably only play enough to pick up some trophies since it's not super popular. Haven't got to play any missions co-op though.

Definitely a worthwhile buy.
