Really, I'm not surprised. They made two key and one unique car preorder-dependent in Shift2, then pulled a GT5 with The Run - making you buy multiple copies of the game to get all the content.

And then they follow everyone else by tying preorder content to codes instead of the disc - so you can't even enjoy it secondhand.

What else won't they be above?

It's pretty much Origin trying to fill your computer with spyware from Origin-supported games like BF3, or games bought from Origin. It happens only on PC.

I think this is related.
