Cool review... Nice racing shoes :sly: :sly: Dont know if I should wait or get a G25 since they will be cheap because this wheel is coming out....

dancardesigner-> Agreed, hotter than already hot Morgan Webb. But Olivia Munn is still cuter. ;)

BT-> Good thing I haven't gotten a G25. So this would be my shopping list if I have the money. :)

Darin, Nice review and thanks for posting, but could you answer this question please?

With the G25 to use the paddles you need to have the shifter unit in sequential mode, but the G27 doesn't have the knob or the shifter position so how do we race (in GT5P for example) with the paddles with the G27?

So cars like the Nissan GTR how are they driven with the G27 in GT5P?

she is hot! :drool:

in regards to the steering wheel however, i still think it lacks in appearance compared to the G25, and its going to have a hard time because the g25 has reduced in price, and the g27 is going to come out at a high price, and if im honest, im happy with the G25 and don't see the point in upgrading, but for first time buyers as mentioned in the video it could be worth while buying the g27, although the g25 is now going to be significantly cheaper.

Thanks for the review!

How do you feel about the lack of a sequential shifter? As a fan of GT racing, and someone who has held off buying a G25 for over a year now for it's replacement, this is the only thing that concerns me.

I never used my sequential shifter instead of paddles. Even rally drivers do not use them unless normal shifting is broken.

I'm disappointed. Having owned a G25 for about a year now I've been pretty pleased with it. I was all ready to buy its successor if it made some big step forward - e.g. pedal vibration and feel or improved FFB. However, the G27 seems to be just a slightly improved version of the G25. Yes, the improved shifter and extra buttons would be nice but not nice enough to warrant spending lots of money on the new wheel - I suspect converting the dollar price to pounds will mean something well in excess of £200 here in the UK. Oh well...

At last! About a year seeing images of that wheel on Internet and finally, official (I suspect alll this delay is because of GT5 launch, because even this wheel don't have offical release date).

I think the most important improvements are not the buttons, neither LEDs. I'm more interested these news:

-. Adjustable pedals => So many times I pushed two pedals at the same time by mistake;

-. Internal changes in the six-speed shifter => They have changed the shifting feeling, looks good;

-. Helical gears => Great, reduces vibration and noise;

Doesn't really seem to be worth buying if you already have a G25. The shift indicator lights aren't much, and the vibration, squeaking and resistance of the shifter module can be easily fixed on the G25 via one of two, if not both mods. The additional four buttons are welcomed, but I've yet to play a game that requires the use of all of the standard G25 buttons, save for maybe GTR2.

sorry but this is lame. i cant believe they would actually take stuff OUT.... makes no sense to me :-/ i was kinda ready to bug the gf about it. whatever logitech you bum me out.

I cant view any videos cause they are blocked at work. But does it say anywhere that the 27 will have the same mounting holes/brackets as the 25? I'm about to get a WheelStandPro and want to know if the 27 will lined up with the 25 mounting holes.

Thanks for any insight.

Yes, the video review mentions they use the same holes/brackets, G25 & G27 that is.

,

Not really convinced just yet.

If all the helical gears have done is reduce noise then I'm not fussed.
The pedals clearly are just G25 pedals with plastic blocks and a few more holes drilled.
Shifter looks to be improved but at the sacrifice of sequential? The G27 still looked loose in the zoom ins.

Well, I'm not fully convinced yet either, but with out owning a G25 yet, the 27 looks inviting. I can get a G25 for $200 now. They have the G27 listed as $300, but I know stores will sell it for less, most likely $250. If I can find it at that price I'll pick it up.

The improvement in the centre for the Force Feedback seems to be a good move and the helical gears.

I thought seeing 20 minutes load up we'd get a more in-depth review. How exactly does the removal of the sequential/manual switch on the shifter work out in games? Are the paddles active in manual mode?

Not keen on the look and placing of the buttons near the grip and looks more toyish to me or like a prototype.

i agree, definitley not better looking than the g25, the g25 was unique in the sense it didnt have a ridiculous amount of buttons on the steering, and when looking at aftermarket steering wheels i.e momo style, the g25 is very similar making it realistic, however the g27 looks like a steering wheel designed by a child, those buttons looks like they belong in a space shuttles.

defo not worth an upgrade from g25 -> g27

p.s keep in mind the g25 is going to reduce in price, so will be even more of a bargain.

personally i dont mind the loud noise of the g25 its really not that bad, and the shifter isnt as awful as people make out, so with beering this in mind there isnt really a significant design upgrade to persuade me to change from the g25

Good thing i got RS wheel with cubsport pedals and shifters all for 352 (yes that is with the delivery) .. G27 300 (additional 20-50 buks for delivery) buks, with weaker peddals, and not as impressive feedback as in the review..
RS is lacking the good ol Logitech plug in and play, but it works with the drivers.. so RS was a good buy for me.. but I am happy G27 is big improvement over G25.

so i was hoping the wheel diameter was going to be the same or bigger than the gt3 wheel. its actually smaller by 20mm....so the real question is which one. g27 or gt3 wheel+club pedals?

how much is the gt3 with club pedals again? g27 is 300 dolls

on logitech.co.uk the price is £330! That's about 540 USD!
That being said, the G25 is £280 on there, and can be found MUCH cheaper elsewhere.

And the G25 shifter isn't compatible either, so no chance of sequential via that route.

All of their wheels. RS wheel, which is told by SRT guys to have one of the best force feedback around for that price, and as well best pedals that can compare to the BIG DOWGS. So 300 buks, a shifter even extension cable and delivery , it will cost you 352, which alone Logitech would charge you some delivery money equaling to same price . But remeber G27 is much easier to plug in and play over Fanatec RS wheel. If you want plug in and play get the TURBO S, but currently its expensive.
