Easy win on 'The Racer'

This is a simple method of beating this otherwise challenging mission. It does, however, involve cheating.

Simply enable the wheels cheat (R1, X, T, R2, S, U, D, S).
Save the game.
Load the game from the save file you just created.
Repeat 5-6 times.

Now, go race Hilary.

His Sabre Turbo will swerve off the road near the police station.

Save.

Reset.

Load.



The reason this works is that the wheels cheat resets on game reset.

Unfortunately, i've the time to test this completely, so make a backup.

That race can be won in the time it takes to save and load the game 5-6 times. Appreciate the help anyways.

It's pretty easy to win the race...You could even sniper him if you were that desperate. (Near the finish sniper, then do the whole race)

Tried the sniper option to acquire the car, but the mission fails if Hilary dies.

And yea, i know its 'the driver', my mistake, i was in a hurry.

I passed it easily by getting 4 stars prior to entering the Malibu to start the mission. Hillary can't get past the road blocks and/or gets tire damage. I had to use 3 different cars to finish and ran a good chunk of the race too (took over 3 minutes)- I never saw him after the first road block.

Each time I've passed this misson, I've done it by parking a fast car (Hotring Racer / Comet / Cheetah / etc. ) after the first turn and swapping the car you get (Sentinel XL?) for it. I tried about 10 times to outrace him fairly but gave up for a faster car. It's not that hard to outrace him with a really fast car, even considering the time taken to swap cars.

I'm kinda crap at car racing games so this was the only viable option to me really.

Oh ok, I thought the sniper option worked...

Anyway, it's not that hard to beat him after a while, although he catches up quite quickly, try to get in front and create crashes behind you so he gets slown down.

drivers not hard it didnt take me that long (though iam good at Driving in VC) just takes practise.
