As most of you know already, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps will be added to GT5 in a few days.
Did anybody know that a part of Spa was featured in GT2? It was just Eau Rouge though.
It was used as a license test.

Just wanted you guys to know.

nor did i... in my defense, while i loved GT2, i was by no means a car/race circuit aficionado back then.

nice dig btw

Hmm I don't remember that. I also don't remember there being other cars like that in a test.
Also the corners seem to flow like eau rouge except at the top of the hill. That turn is to tight.

What track was that or is it just a test?

It was for a license test but the youtube guy used gameshark codes to race on it. It wasn't ever intended, hence the buggy start and the fact it's only a point to point piece of track.

Still, a bit of a stretch to say that is Eau Rouge. It's generally similar but at the same time quite different.

Didn't know that, I entered at Gran Turismo World with GT3, it was crazy because I had a Nintendo 64 and my racing game there was an F1 game from 1998 and another game called Lamborghini Automovili it no only featured Lamborghinis but also Ferrari, Porsche, Viper Mclaren... it was fun but then a cousin put GT3 on his brand new PS2 and show me the intro and I was o god..... he also told and as you see the replay, in game is the same, from there there was no return, bought a PS2 just for GT3 and now here I am with the PS3 just to play GT5, I was tented to buy an Xbox 360 just to play Forza for Porsche but I had hope on see the brand on GT5, and yes there is also the G25 and the G27 only compatible with PS3 and PC so I bought GT5... still awating to see Porsche on a Gran Turismo Game some day....

I heard about this. It was the license with the Toyota GT-one if I remember. I didn't noticed at the time though since I was younger.

Ah yes, I remember that test with the GT-one clearly.

Eau Rogue will be quite fun in supercars without downforce. Really a great test of balancing the throttle and weight of the car. Modern F1 cars take all the fun out of it.

They also imasculated it by straightening it ALOT.

Still can't believe they 'sanitised' it. It was great watching Jacques Villeneuve smash up yet another Williams convinced he could definitely take it flat out this time

It was actually in two tests - the GT-One was the second test, the first was a TVR Griffith.

It was also just an "inspired by" section of track, featuring corners and topography similar to Eau Rouge and Radillon, rather than the real thing.

Interesting! I didn't notice that at the time... Seems like later today I'll have some "amarcord" moments with GT2 :)

note:I think it's impossible to translate amarcord for not-Italians, it would be like something you remember in a nostalgic way.

It was damn hard, especially the one with GT-One.

But is not Eau Rouge to be honest, it just resembles the basic configuration of uphill section with left sweep.

It's almost identical, games back then were rough copies none of them resembled courses exactly. It's about as good a copy of Eau Rouge as you will see on a game back then

Wow! :D I wouldn't have remembered that being about 7 (APPROX.) when I was in love with GT2!
