Eau Rouge

That toyota was very difficult to control. It was very twitchy and bouncing. If you would push it just a little to hard i't would "whobble" and spin. I think about that test quite often, because I always wondered why it wasn't in any track in the GT series.

It isn't quite eau rouge, but it has a nice resemblence to it.

Heh, I remember this one. I also remember thinking that it would be cool if it were part of an actual circuit in the game. I'm not sure I ever made the connection with Eau Rouge, but I never really raced on the Spa circuit in GPL ('67 season) which I was also playing at the time - I was already addicted to the Nürburgring.

As an aside, that F1 game was the first game we had that could make use of the 3Dfx Voodoo "graphics accelerator". It's all come a long way, hasn't it?

Not true.

The AI is better than GT5's lol

Still can't believe they 'sanitised' it. It was great watching Jacques Villeneuve smash up yet another Williams convinced he could definitely take it flat out this time

Well it wasn't just Villeneuve that year, there were 5 other huge ones, and there were also one or two fatalities in touring car races there.

Hah, I remember this test, the GT-One test was the thing that forced me to use manual gears in GT to get gold.

I wouldnt say it was Eau Rouge but it certainly is inspired by it.

Zonta and Zanardi crashed there correct?

They also imasculated it by straightening it ALOT.

I don't think so. The old eau rouge was slower.

The appeal is extreme large G left-right-left combined with an extremely steep hill. The longer version wasn't as steep and didn't generate those G forces.

Eau Rouge will become easier as cars keep gaining downforce. That, and the wall which isn't so close anymore, makes the corner less frightening.

It's a lot steeper than it appears on tv and in games.

Can't believe how hard that turn can be on modern superacars. Italia, ZR1, SLS, you have to slow down considerably while a Prius TC flies past on full throttle with 30 plus kilometers!

The first uphill turns are a PITA

All I use are supergt cars and I can take it wide open throttle very easily

But all these production cars or just sissies cant, so they either park on their brakes right in front of me or i swerve around them and get a shortcut penalty

Them were the days!

Remember when JV smashed it in his BAR and then moments later his teammate Zonta smashed it there too. Might have been otherway round, but this 1 corner has so many memories it's amazing corner.

In GT5 it's great, trying to take it flat in the wet is so much fun.
