Ecclestone wants Massa to Win

Firstly, Eccelstone says who he wants to win before the season starts every year, and usually before every race too. He wanted Hamilton to win one year. Secondly, Max Mosley is the nearest thing to an F1 Boss, but his job is also WRC and WTCC boss as well. All Bernie does is let you watch F1 on telly.

Also, Ecclestone is perfectly entitled to say he'd like to see one driver win. If he's not allowed to do that, then none of us should be allowed to support one driver. It's not like he's giving any additional support to Massa; he's just coming out and saying "I'd like to see the kid win".

And let's face it ... Felipe Massa is one of the most deserving drivers on the grid, especially given the way he handled himself on the porium in Brazil last year and then made sure the Toyota team got away safely by providing them with Ferrari shirts and Brazilian flags to top the crowds from attacking them.

I'd like to see Massa win too, lol. The guy has improved so much from his Sauber days that I think he's put enough effort in to deserve to be called Champion. Just needs to keep his cool this year and repeat his performance and hope Ferrari don't screw him over again and the FIA don't harshly punish his opponent and he could take it.
Much more deserving than Hamilton flying in from GP2 into the best car on the grid, though I mean no disrespect to his victory, I think Massa deserves it more.

I don't think this is a problem. I would say that Bernie dressed in Red Ferrari attire is a problem.

I do agree, Massa is an amazing driver. I never knew he gave toyota stuff though. Good on him for being so kind.

It was pretty much the first thing he did after the race: he sent his brother down with boxes of Ferrari shirts and Brazilian flags with a message for the Toyota team not to be seen in Toyota liveries while leaving the circuit. It wasn't Toyota's fault that Hamilton got him at the last moment, but Massa knew some people in the crowd wouldn't see it that way.

I remember ITV showing some shots of the crowd when a Toyota was comming into the pits. The were livid but I can see how they think it was Toyotas fault. It couldn't be helped.

Ok, this picture deserves a funny caption (seeing as there is no 2009 caption thread yet):

Rumours that Ferrari are twisting the new regulations are hit back by Bernie.

Btw, I plan to start a 2009 thread (just re-kick the old one) about Mid-Feb. If people want to start doing pre-season testing captions before that, then go for it.

In a bold preposal to cut costs in half, Bernie Ecclestone suggested that the regulations should decrease everything possible by half, including the number of cylinders and the number or tires. Ducati is rumored to have a 2010 spec Formula 1 'car' ready for testing. Asked about who they would want to 'drive' their 'car' they said they are in talks with someone with the initials M.S.
