Eco-friendly Vehicles We didn't Get in GT5

They forgot the Dodge EV coupe concept based on a lotus. The thing has over 400lbft of torque!

Also the 200c concept by chrysler.

Though I'd never drive a hybrid in real life, I find them interesting in GT5.

I enjoy otherwise "odd" cars in video games.

When I won a premium Prius as a prize car I was pretty stinkin' pissed off. Not only that they sullied my garage with that POS, but also that they wasted the time to make a premium model out of it. Horrible horrible car, and of absolutely no use whatsoever in a game with racetracks, no traffic or stoplights.

And the Honda Dualnote.

EDIT: IT'S NOT THE HONDA DUAL NOTE BUT THE ACURA DN-X CONCEPT '02

Yeah, most of the enviromentally friendly cars in ths game couldn't outrun a bicycle, however, I suggest you actually try, and tune the above.

I did, and was shocked - correction, make that totally and utterly dumbfounded.

Honda Dualnote - mine has 400bhp, weight reduction and custom suspension, I took it to Trail Mountain and it just blew me away. No understeer, no oversteer, nothing, it's completely shocking, it handles better than 80-90% of the cars in the game.

I find alot of cars struggle at trail mountain but the Dualnote just seemed to take everything in it's stride.

I only tuned it for a joke, to make my friends laugh when I went online with it, but I wasn't laughing after I drove and tuned it.

Be wary of this car if you race it online, it really is very fast.

You win it as a prize car I think, tune it, try it and see for yourself.

ECO friendly vehicle is called motorcycle.

Twice the economy of a sedan with 1/2 the passenger capacity, 1/10th the luggage space and 0/100th the crash safety.

But infinitely more fun, I'll give them that.

For every eco friendly car they add they have to leave out another car, there are a bunch of completely pointless cars in game that nobody will drive more than once, and a bunch of amazing real world cars that are left out or are only standard.

There are cars in the game that are uglier, slower and less fun to drive than some of the hybrids. There are many in the game that are significantly less fun than the Tesla.

And besides, with just eight eco-cars... it's not like PD went out of their way to remove everything else to put them in. If PD was more in touch with the green scene, we should be getting the Aptera, the EfficientDynamics concept, the DPe, the Venturi Fetish, the T-Zero...

Of course, most of these cars would be useless except for time trials and short races.

Still, I could think of a dozen "green cars" that are significantly more fun to drive than yet another *yawn* muscle car. Give up the 300C for a 335d? Happily!

I don't understand how people keep complaining that each "XXX" car takes away space from some imaginary unicorn that didn't make it into the game. There are already way too many powerful/fast/grippy cars in the game as it is. I'm missing my Daimler Motor Carriage already...

If you're right, you're right...regardless of who may or may not be offended. When political correctness and the desire to not hurt someone's feelings take precedent over truth, things have gone horribly wrong. Kinda like the whole global warming thing.

Plus I doubt they'd take kindly to a political/religious debate popping up in the GT5 fourm...

W&N has it right. If anyone wants to vent about how climate change politics is ruining our motoring life, there's a huge Global Warming thread in the Opinions section.

And it's not the words per se that are often the problem... it's the context in which they are used that can often result in posts being deleted or points given.

Anything off-topic and approaching Glenn Beck levels of rantitude or Greenpeace levels of preachiness will be removed. Thank you.

Well, I own a first gen Honda Insight. EPA 61/70 mpg. But I haven't bought it in the game because for me, this is a racing game. Just my opinion, but I like to race.

I dont want any enviormental friendly cars in GT5, really hope PD will concentrate to make all epic and popular cars premium first.

So let it out man.

Problem is I don't run this board and places like this tend to over control speech. I understand why they do it and it is their site, and it's a great site, but I'm sure they don't want it getting out of hand. If I personally ran a site I would let more slip. We are all grownups and if somebody doesn't like what they read they don't have to read it BUT again I want to respect the board owners rules so I will keep my mouth shut on this one except to say this darn global warming caused it to get 35 degrees this morning in southern califonia! I went to my car this morning to go to work and said to myself, " darn global warming is freezing me, I better get a Prius so I can stop global warming and make southern California warm again. Wait, huh."

But that's the point of most of the rules on this forum, I think. Many of our members are young children, Gran Turismo is a family-friendly game, and GTPlanet should be (and mostly is, thanks to the Mods) a family-friendly forum.

I pretty much agree except I don't think there are a lot of little kids here. I would figure they are more into playing the game than talking about it. But I could be wrong. I love this site and it's the ONLY site I use. You can tell by the amount of times I have posted and replied that I love it here. I have only been a member for about a month. I'm just saying that if a little off topic debate breaks out what's the harm as long as it's clean? But like I said I enjoy it here so I bite my tongue. I just love debating but I find that a large percentage of people confuse debate with arguing/fighting. But the Mods have to draw the line somewhere and I respect that.

Actually I love this site so much I'm going to see if there is a place to donate. I saw some members have premium by thier name. Does that mean they paid for special access?

Premium member now! Strange it is so hidden. I had to look around for a bit to find out if I could pay for service. 20$ a year I am shocked I see so few premium members.

OK, there are hybrids like the Toyota Prius and Honda Insight, and there are two EVs (Tesla Roadster and Mitsubishi iMiEV). I wish there were at least two more: The Chevrolet Volt and Nissan Leaf. You know, there is growing demand for hybrids and EVs because of reducing our oil dependency and saving our environment. So why not go for more eco-friendly vehicles?

Because in GT5 we can blast through tracks for millions of miles and guzzle trillions of litres of petrol without giving a monkey's.

It's a cheap way to support an arguably good forum and resource for GT players. ;)

A good rule of thumb: If it's something you can't say in front of your teacher or at a family occassion, then it's verboten here. And some of the things people tend to say on these boards would get them whipped at my elementary school...

Again: This thread is not the venue for it. We have a HUUUGE Global Warming thread right here:

Global Warming Discussion Thread: Five years and ninety one pages strong, so far.

Much like the Evolution thread, it's there to keep all such discussions in one place. Thank you.

I can't stand to look at hideous hybrids and electrics in real life and would rather they put more super cars in the game rather than hybrids.

When it all comes down to it I'm all for high performance, big engines in real life and games. The answer to all our problems is the 150 plus years worth of oil we have under our feet in Colorado, Alaska, and the Gulf. Lol

I did enjoy the seasonal event with the CR-Z, but please, spare us the hybrids and add more cars people would want to race in.
