Built for the singular purpose of winning the Australian Sports Car Championship, the one-off, aluminium monocoque MS7 did just that, with designer/builder Garrie Cooper winning the title at Phillip Island in 1975.
In essence the MS7 was a development of the MS6 Formula 5000 chassis with a fully enclosed body clearly influenced by the Porsche 917/10 Can-Am. The full width bodywork was capable of producing massive downforce. With a dry weight of 730 kg and 525 bhp from the Repco tuned Holden V8, the Elfin was more than a match for the opposition, dominating from it's debut.
