Endurance race help

This question has probably been answered before in same way, but any help will be greatly appreciated.

I attempted the Infineon endurance race with a Mercedes CLK GTR.
My problem was that I had to pit almost twice as frequently as the other race cars due to tyre wear. So whatever lead I build up was lost in the extra pit stop. My tyre configuration was:
Front - R3 racing medium.
Back - R2 racing hard.
If I used a harder compound my lap times suffered and it was the same in B-Spec mode (with much slower lap times)

So what should I do ??
Thanks in advance.

I believe that in this endurance, you are racing against LMP's (ie. Sauber, Minolta, Audi R8, Pescarolo, etc.).

So if I were you, I'd win a Minolta from the El Capitan endurance, slap on a Stage 4 turbo, put on Hard tires front, Super Hard rear, and try it again.

Or, if you have a huge boatload of credits (+5,000,000), buy the Audi R8, put on the recommended mods that I described above, and try the endurance again.

You will also want to use the tranny trick and set the tranny so that it gets near or at the redline on the longest straight of the track. And if you are using B-Spec, set the speed for 2 or 3.

well, not too sure wiht the mercedes cuz i dont have one, and sure as heck dont noe where to find one....but the races that i have raced wiht my minolta and my jaguar lmp cars i pwned the sauber. with me minolta wiht overtake and like 3-4 settings, i finsihed off in about 5 hours, or maybe i have the wrong map in head...

Don't worry about adding horse power to a LMP to win this race. I used my Audi R8 with racing hards and lapped the second place Sauber 4 times. The lineup had the Panoz in it, along with the R92, 787b, Pesky for a whopping 55 points thanks to the Panoz.
But it was the first Aspec run at it and after Lemans the weekend before I wanted to drive the Audi regardless of points, since I hadn't driven it yet. I want to run the Audi at the 24 hour LeSarthe. That would be pretty cool.

I find the best way to run endurances is to race until the first pit stop in A Spec, because ur AI driver will never drive at the full speed of the car, regardless of what speed setting ur on. Secondly, the AI driver drives like a normal driver would, and follows the line of the car in front, looking for a place to overtake. Consequently he tends to fall behind a bit. If you can make a good 30-40 second lead on the second place car, then change to Bspec, you should have absolutely no problems with leaving it on.

that sounds cool, ill have to check that out, but my bspec driver (with overtake on) will get u on the corners. my driver will actually run over the grass to pass the car (5 setting). iono, maybe urs works better, ill check it out

Yea, on 5 the driver will put two wheels on the dirt to try and overtake, but you run the risk of him losing it round the corner. The more B-Spec points you have, then you can put your settings higher. Also, another good trick is the day before you do an endurance race, select the track from whichever category it is, get the car ur gonna use, and run it round the track in B-Spec overnight. The B-Spec driver learns, and if he has experience with a certain car on a certain track, then he can drive alot faster and more accurately

bspec is really complicated. what i dont get is that my max bspec points is 5004 and my aspec is 4300, wtf is that!?!?!
i see people wiht like 10k aspec and all that.gg. my skill is like 60/50/48 for my driver. i race the fuji 1k km like 5 times, no bspec increase and no skill increase...does it really learn the track and better wiht the car? ive been using my minolta for the longest time, i used it so much it has 8000 miles on it and the hp dropped from 1254 to 1173...im sad. can someone explain just a tad bit mroe about bspec and its leraning capabilities? thanks a lot

You only get BSpec points once each race... I think... Someone correct me if I'm wrong. The more the car drives on a track, the more machine skill it gets. The more you race in Bspec, the more battle skill it gets. People who have 10,000 Aspec points have done everything in Aspec, also not 100% sure on that one, but I think that that is the total points for every race in the game. 8000 miles is a lot to drive a car, try body refreshes stuff like that. The drop in hp is probably just general engine wear, although I wasnt aware of that aspect in the game. Just ask if there's anything else u wanna know.

Yea, I guess it is the mileage, the oil change makes your engine run smoother and quicker, but only compared to it running without oil so yea. Just do the El Capitan race and win a new Minolta :)
