I really like the idea of these endurances races. Optimising racecraft for tires longevity, pit stops with mandatory tires, managing the fuel consumption, playing with time lapse to see some sunset, all of this is awesome!

I don’t really know how to achieved this but it would be nice to find some kind of levelling between faster and slower driver to give a chance to everybody to run at the front. But, as I said, I don’t really know how to do it simply. Any suggestions?

Getting more participation will help, but basically what you are suggesting is a handicap system. The simplist way is to have drivers with extremely fast qualifying times add ballast or reduce the power output of their engine. I'll do some testing to see how much ballast or power reduction affect lap times.

Nova has a really good system in place for his series. I can tell you bublymans handicap is about 30 pp less than me me in the Michelin Pilot Cup. In order to skip the time trial process maybe we could go by points standings in previous Sunday night series and relegate from there. Or last minute adjustments based on qualifying.

Yeah, something simple is better, at least in the beginning.

I am down for 1-2 hour races. Not so sure I have the endurance for a 3-4 hour race The time it takes me to learn a track and car combo is extensive when you don't know the cars and know only a few tracks. And I'm way to competitive mentally without the knowledge to back it up yet - I spend every minute possible learning the combos for snail sun night league.

Count me in - theres a whole Month to prepare so that helps a lot.

This race involved strategy and oractice to determine best pit- tire - fuel strategy and tire order - I had none this week and still had a blast!!!

How soon will next months race be announced - I need 2 months to prepare for all of you Mr Zoom Zooms

Thanks for a great experience -

Which I assume Nova is implementing via the ways I suggested.

Your very welcome. For me, just listening to the rolling commentary from you guys on the voice chat was worth the price of admission.

I'm diverting the subject a bit by asking you, in the context of endurance racing, would you guys like to consider a round on the Nordschleife (the endurance sprint track)? A race on this track makes perfect sense in an endurance context where you take the time to get into the rhythm of your race pace. We could divide the hour in half, with a pit stop around the halfway point. Maybe less strategy on this one (hard and medium tires only, in 1x or 2x wear), but trying to survive these laps unscathed would be the challenge. This would give us around seven laps of racing with a GR.4 car.

Don't listen to him. He's just trying to get us to forget about that square tire! LOL I'm just playing.I like that idea.

I would need at least 2 months to be possibly remotely competitive at that track - if your considering it maybe you could do it in a few months? definitely not be ready by next month - But I am low guy on the totem pole so U do U Mr Bubly and I'll squeeze in and see if ai can prepare adequately - i havnt even practiced for porsche cup as snail trails occupy all my time now and soon porsche cup will consume me.

Anyway of doing like they do in manuf cup - release the track / combos for three races ahead to give some of the non zoom zoom people a chance to prepare?

Just a thought - whatever decision is made I am def down with any and all races

will these races be all gt4 cars? or can we consider gr1-gr4 only or ???

Some GR2 cars would be nice but I think this is all gr4 😡😤 Antman wants to zoom zoom

Looking forward to what bubbles can do on that square tire

Definitely down for the "Green Hell"! One of, if not THE most historic tracks in racing. My dream is to attend the 24 hours of Le Mans, Spa, and Nürburgring.

The Nürburgring will be a near future endeavor.

No, the races will not be all GT4 cars. I just happened to pick the Supra because it was on Sunday's line up.

Endurance racing is my thing, and as the son of a history teacher, I have a particular love for the 1940's to 1980's period of racing. It was a simpler time - no computers or driving aids - and the drivers were of a different class of driver than today. Men like Moss, Shelby, McLaren, Surtees, Gregory, Miles, Stewart, Gurney, Ickx, and countless others who were both famous and sadly forgotten. Men with big brass balls that needed to be carried around with a wheelbarrow, because the cars that they were driving at the time could send them to the morgue quicker than they could get them to the podium. My intention is to eventually incorporate cars from this era into some of our endurance races as a homage to the men with big brass balls.
