why waste the money
It seem's that there alot of race fans out there that haven't had the chance to try it out for them selves. There are many ways to get involved, here are just a few. Get a hold of the local track near you. It dosen't matter what kind of racing it is, talk to them and see if they need any help on race day. By doing this, you get to meet the drivers and team owners, also you get in for free. Now if you want to try to drivr but you just don't want to spend any cash until you know that this is what you want to do, check out some arrive and drive corses. They supply the car/kart, and for a fee, you get to drive. There is endurance kart race that supplies all the karts. You just get about 3 buddys, pay the entrace fee and they supply everything else including saffty equipment. These races last from 6 to 24 hours. I have seen them advertised in the RACER magazine. Also the SCCA hase a great system, anything from timetrials to all out racing. Check it out, you just might be the next superstar.

I'm not going to go in any detail, but here is an example of an amateur-level race that was shown on Speed in a "Grassroots" segment:

The 12 Hours of Summit Hill

Ya, I watched that also. I wish that they showed more of that so that everyone can see that you can race on a budget.
