Hmmm, I'd have preferred Gerrard, but I think Terry will do a good job.
 
So nobody agrees with my Garry Neville even though i'm a chelsea supporter.

Gary would make a good captain, I haven't really thoiught too much about it though, Gary, John and Steven are all great players and they can all shout at their team mates.
 
I think Steve McClaren has made a wise choice - Terry and Gerrard are both equally capable of leading their country, but I think that having a defender pulling the strings is what England need.... Gary Neville, though? Maybe an influential player, but he's too old now - Terry is a much better longer term option....

Good point about the age, Gary Neville may not be in the squad by the next World cup. Theres no reason Terry shouldn't be.

Although, to be fair, there's not much anyone can do when Riise unleashes strikes with that sort of venom. :scared:

The second one either him or Bridge should've got to it.

Good decision by Steve imo, Terry is a leader on and off the pitch.
