English Members - What Happened to Russell Bulgin?

I got my fortnightly e-mail from www.sniffpetrol.com, and on checking the site out I noticed there was a little tribute to Russell Bulgin, which I took to mean that he had died.

Is this the case? What happened to him? He wasn't exactly old, either.

If so, I'll miss his writing - he was a pretty solid car journo.

apparently he died, although i have no details on the cause of his death...

Had a bit of a look around - apparently he had cancer. It is sad - he was only mid-40s, and was a good writer.

just looked over another forum, he indeed died of a long battle with cancer...

very,very sad news... i just begun reading Evo, and he dies... i guess i'll never see his great work, aside for that article on the Cayenne...

I remember one article from the mid-90s when he drove an F1 Jordan - it was pretty funny.

Bloody hell! I didn't know he was battling with cancer, last thing I read of his was in Evo magazine. Shame really, he had a nice style of writing that was good to read

Yeah, I saw this on SniffPetrol too, and was very shocked. I really liked his style - perhaps his agent should collect together his writings in a book. I'd deffo buy it.

Two of my favourite sayings of his:
"The [Mark 1] Subaru Impreza Turbo is almost wilfully ugly"
"Friends don't let friends put split rims on 911s".

I'll see if I've got any back issues, and come up with some more.
