I will mate, still learning. Ill get it sometime. And you really cant do much in the places I was at.

Don't be frighten to post here.
We are kind people.

What camera do you use?

I like your number 4&5 (R8) but don't overuse HDR. Don't do it on every picture (you post). I quite like it, but not everyone does, especially here.

Also I have seen way worse "professional" automotive shots, who were even not able to get the whole car in the pic.

So keep posting

Stop trying HDR.

Just stop. The shots all look absurdly fake, and I know you can't properly HDR action shots so I assume you are mostly doing this by pushing RAW files around and then merging from those. It is really obvious with the first shot, where the edge of the door seems is probably close to a stop brighter immediately and then drops off in what would be 2 inches - something that does not happen in real life no matter how your eye sees it.

As for composition, it feels quite a bit like you'd just walk around and snap a shot of whatever looked good. You can, even at a dealer, get lower to the ground or step back further in some situations to provide a more interesting angle.

More pictures from various events over the summer and this year so far. I feel these look more realistic and the others were artsy because of the Hdr. Anyway tell me how you feel (Be honest) Some info on some of the cars.

Shelby Series 1 Supercharged: This is one of the few Shelbys that was supercharged at the factory. This was a very special car and was awsome to see.

The Radical was another first time seeing this car and I must say it was actually faster then what I thought.

The older red looking Formula 1 car (Not much info)

Anyway if anybody wants more info on the other cars just let me know and ill see what I can find.

Try lowering your shutter speed for the motorsport shots (say.. to 1/60th or perhpas a bit lower, depending on preference) to try get some panning action. Works well to add some excitement and motion to them. 👍

Thanks man, I really am glad you guys give suggestions, keep em coming! 👍

Your second set of shots looks a lot better then the HDR shots. Drifting R32 looks the best to me... :) And as Boffin said, play around with your shutter speeds when panning to get more action in the background.

I didn't like the SLS convertible as much when I saw it, but looking at the pics you took of it make it look real nice.

Thanks guys. Yeah I dont like the sls convertiable as much either, but its what it is around here.

All your cars on the track look like they're just sitting there. Try adjusting the shutter speed and get some actual motion in your shots.

I think the slower shutter speed panning works! 👍

Just work on that more to get some crisper shots and perhaps play around with some different composition (framing).

Cool stuff.

This set is definitely better. You can see the cars are actually moving. Good work 👍

Ah, the progress you've made is quite big. Keep working on panning shots and as Boffin said, try to compose panning shots from different angles, lower down of dead-coming at you, all you need is practice.

and tone down the vignettes at the sides, those are awful. Let the pic speak.

Looking much cooler. Liking the improvements. Next is to make the shot more creative. For example take it coming off a hill or going around a bend etc rather than just dead on.

Thanks guys! I am going to an exotic car show in 2 weeks so look out for that!

Also quick question. For the motorsports pictures it is best to use auto focus right? You get the same results with manual focus but with less work?

Much better!! Also glad you don't use those HDI filters anymore  That was quite the hype back then :scared:
Thank You! Sorry I am replying so late, I was not watching my own thread... I realized that I was doing photography, and not painting.

Great shots @Eric1512! You would love my moms work (exotic cars) for taking photos. There is a '67 Miura, and a '61 300sl, along with many Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Maseratis, and more lol.

Can't wait to see some Formula D photos. Was there Friday and Saturday too.

Thanks bro! That would definitely be a nice place for pictures. I would love to see a Miura, that would be one car I have not seen. Did you enjoy Formula D? I met up with @Conscience Saturday. We both did not agree on some of the calls, but it was definitely exciting to watch. I have actually been posting most of my stuff up on Instagram as it is an easy way to get my name out there, so if you do please follow me at Ericg1512. This year it was very tricky to get pictures on track because they ran power lines right where I took pictures last year!

Anyway without further ado, here is just a few from #FDNJ.

Yeah I enjoyed it, but it killed me when they called Odi at fault. I was like "NOOOOO! ODI WHHHHYYY!" lol. Great to see Aasbo finally get a well deserved win too. All in all great battles that day. Great shots up got there too.

I don't have an instagram, but I have a Twitter? I suppose I can finally make an instagram; now that I have an IPad. Never had one, because my phone is from 2008 lol.

Yeah some of there calls were a little weird. I was very surprised to see Daigo and Tureck got OMT. Charles ng was looking really good! It seemed like Wall made a lot of drivers drive a lot harder. Denofa has some of the worst luck at wall!

We need to drift some time on GT6! I am finally getting back into things, lol.
