escudo

on the topic of the escudo, id like to give it some props, i have never used it for races that i need to do, except endurance, they take to long the way it is just to win by 15 laps or so might as well get it over with fast, but when in need of money the escudo is a exclent choice, its basically an auto win in a very short amont of time example, do the red ridge race where you win the tuscan, make millions quite fast anyways besides that i find the escudo a bit pointless, i could never get anything to beat its 400, or 1000 but its top speed is nothing compared to the power of nissan, anyways what are your veiwpoints on this beast from the east

I think the Escudo it's just the best car in the game... and i don't like it :yuck:

Once i tried to beat him with the Toyota GT1 road version on Test Course, but all the times i was able to do with the Toyota, i was able to beat it with the Escudo... until i gave up...

I think that car can beat anything in any track...

Well as I said in my other post, I have never used it except for the 2 Pikes Peak races and I'm proud of that.

I would never think of using it to do an enduro, to do so would mean missing the whole point of dealing with traffic for an extended period of time in GT2, even if you're only competing against just one other car. For instance, I did the Rome Enduro last week in a Viper GTS. It had Stage 2 NA tune, stock exhaust, and the computer chip (603 hp). Now I coulda just got an Escudo and finished the race 15 laps ahead of everyone else, but to do so would be extremely boring. I'd rather have a 2 hour race in which I'm fighting the Toyota GT1 (true competition) than a 1 hour 35 minute race in which there basically is no competition. If this were real life, the Escudo wouldn't even be considered by race marshalls!

Finally, doing the All Stars Red Rock race is a great way to make cash (and I'm guilty of this, I admit), but you don't need an Escudo to do it, even tho all the ‘cheat’ websites recommend it. That's exactly what this car is: a big fat cheat machine!

Yes it is.

I think the problem is that the AI only drives 600hp - 700hp cars, we don't see the AI driving the Escudo (except for dirt races), GT-One Road Version (fully tuned) or R390 Road Version (fully tuned). So, if when you go with a same power / weight ratio car, the game it's already easy, it becomes a joke when you use one of those cars...

Amen, my brutha.

ok im going to say this top speeds the escudo is nothing my nissans and that one toyota car, ive only used it recently because i didnt know of its exsistance, can smoke the escudo, in fact my brother was able to beat me with the cultas, no hybrid. it may have exceleration like a banchee doesnt mean youll win. and thats all i have to say, not aruging just trying to make a point that its not totaly evil, and besides have you ever drivin it on motor sports land, that wasnt a good deal when i tried anyways good night

Since you discovered it recently, it seems to me that you don't know how to use all of the Escudo potential...

On test course i was able to reach an higher top speed with the Escudo than i did with the GT-One or the R390... only did better with the dragster 100SX. I also used it on Red Rock always making better times than the GT-One.

Sure, having an high acceleration doesn't mean you'll win but it's much more important than top speed... exception only for the test course.
Usually the best way to quickly check if a car is better than another one, is to compare their power/weight ratios.

ok how did you do that, i cant get my escudo past 254, mys r390's go about 256 and 257, and my toyota gt1 goes about 270 in fifth gear(i dont dare use sixth, i messed up in gearing but i still did good, anyways yes your right but all i was doing is trying to make ppl think its not 100% evil, and its a great car for newbs once they hit there 2 mill, i didnt becuse i didnt know the car was on there till about 75% done the first time i played (had no desire to drive a suzuki till i went to see if it had dealer races) anyways i want to know how can get that thing up to 270, i never could i tryed and i just never could

I'm not tryin to argue either, but if you ask me, that's my opinion above. Cheat, and ye shall not be the best driver ye can be!

It seems you have it in mph so... 270Mph*1.6=432Km/h
This isn't my best top speed with the Escudo, i did nearly 440Km/h (275Mph) but i don't have that setup anymore, so i did a quick one just to show you it can go faster than that. Look at the Top Speed on Best Lap:

Here's the setup i used:
Springs 19/20
Height 95/95
Dampers all at 1
Camber 2.8/2.4
Toe 0 0
Stabilizer 7/7

Gears:
1 - 6.595
2 - 4.118
3 - 2.875
4 - 2.116
5 - 1.641
6 - 1.342
Final - 2.220
Auto 22

Minimum downforce and LSD at the hardest.

I could do only about 420Km/h at the straights but got the 432Km/h when cornering, so you need to corner well to get there.

ok that added about 2mph but that still isnt close to 275 so ya ive been dooing some tweeking but maxed about 260 so ya anyways i dont know, also in a auto set of 22 most those setting cant happen so you mistyped i set the auto at max, which works for me

Change the auto to 20 and they will work fine. The auto doesn't matter anyway it's just to help you to setup the ratios.

You said you couldn't get the Escudo to past 254mph, and you didn't knew how it could reach 270mph. I've showed that it can go to 270mph, and i know it can go to near 275mph, cos i did it before. Believe it or not, i don't care...
The people as good or better than me, know that what i'm saying it's possible.

Yes, indeedy. You can even win the Rome 2 Hours in less than two hours!

(When the game gets to lap 100, it stops the race even if 2 hours haven't passed yet).

tsk tsk... amateurs...

I have won the Rome 2 Hour several times, with a variety of cars. Finishing before the time limit expires is just a fun challenge in the game. I believe some people did the same thing using the Toyota GT-ONE too.

Would you prefer my story about when I won it with a finishing time of 3-03:38.6 ? :)

I'm just kidding, Sportwagon I hope you know that. I have much respect for you..you tackled the GT1 Normal series in a Civic, right?
