Hello. I'm fairly new here, i have been on here for a bit but have not really been posting much. I have played Gran Turismo 3 since i was about 8, and won this competition at my local fair :D, (who could drive an Astra touring car round super speedway the quickest) I recently started playing Gran Turismo 4, well, i have been playing it for a bit now and i am slowly progressing through the game. I started this thread to see if i could attract any European Car fans, like myself. When we get some members, we can start to hold top speed challenges, time attacks and share tuning tips. If you are out there looking at this forum, please post! Even if you don't use Euro cars i will still appreciate your opinions and ideas. :)

I like the european cars.
I bought the Playstation Pescarlo from Pescarlo sport in france and I use that car to do all my extreme events and endurance races.
I think I also have most of the other "euro" cars too

Sure I like European cars. I used to live in Germany when I was a kid and (needless to say) watching cars fly by my family's slow Renault 12 on the autobahn got my interest in European cars peaking early. :dopey:

I'll never forget the day a hot head in a Porsche 911 zipped by doing perhaps 150 mph. It was a freezing cold day and there was a sheet of black ice on the road! After a few miles, we passed the Porsche, which was now a complete wreck. Another time there was a long long traffic jam on our way home from Delmenhorst. A sausage truck had been going too fast and tipped over. The traffic jam was caused by many a German family stopping for a moment to grab a jar of sausage before moving on! :D

Good ol sausage truck grab and go trick, i love it. All you needed was to find a truck with some Warmer Kartoffelsalat and you would have been set!

Well, that speaks directly to my bias :D. I'm very firmly in the camp of those who love and admire European automotive machinery - I have an especial place in my heart for British Sports and GT cars tho'.

In right there with you. 👍

UK, Germany, Italy a few others, and just maybe France, have produced some of the best sports and GT cars that the world has ever seen.
Porsche, TVR and Ferrari to name a few.

And over the last few decades they have been a bit more adventurous with thier smaller cars too.
Golf GTI/VR6/R32, Escort RS Turbo/Cosworth, Clio Williams.

Its not just the car though, its the way they're made.
And some of our top cars are handmade with perfection.

Good to know.

I love European cars as well, classic and 80s era BMWs (E34), Ford Escorts and Capris, and (on a technicality) Volvos and Saabs.

Sign me up for this one!

Sorry everyone! I took a really long break from GT4, and i am over the moon about all the replies... lol. I am really pleased that someone wants to revive it, and i think a manufacturer specific league would be great!

I like some Euro cars as well. BMW's for their driveability and M-B's for their sheer muscle, and Adi's for traction monsters. Renault takes care of the mid-engined madness, and brits have the FR power monsters.

everyone so far speaks of how much they admire Euro cars, but nothing was ever started at all.. Time attacks, top speed challenge.. etc..

ok ill see if i can break that time with the merc.

ok so i did a 1:27:272 on a bone stock merc evo 2
i had a lap 1 and 1/2 secs faster going but i cliped the apex on the last corner too soon and launched across the track. Eventually stoping 2 feet from the line.

:D Yay for participation. Ill add your time to the leaderboard, so people know the rough area to aim for. I think the merc is a great handling car :)

So... Only 13 seconds separate the road car and touring car? I'll have to see if I can best the touring car with a modded road car.

i bet it can too. The touring car has a lot of understeer in the entry of the turns. hopefully a modded road car can get rid of this and will surelly beat both of our times. i might try going for a faster time today also, I bet i can knock off a few seconds from my crappy lap.

hmh.. I dislike most racecars in the game.. RX-7 LM in blue, white or black is nice, but that's about it. even most of the GT-R racecars leave me cold.
