Hmmmm... did not see this suggestion when I made mine sorry, searched for Create not Creator... LOL... so will just post to yours and try to get mine removed...

A basic event creator where you plug in a few values...

Tracks........[track1][laps], [track2][laps], [track3][laps], [track4][laps], [track5][laps]
Cars...........[PP range][year][country]
Difficulty.....[1-10]

Prize money could be dependant on the settings, sure some smarty boffin could put together an algorithm.
(L*(PP-PPx+1)*D)*100 where L=Laps, PP=Set PP, PPx=User PP and D=difficulty... blah, blah, blah... So a 15 lap race at 50pp below on dif10 woudl gtive 750k... or a 3 lap race at the PP level on dif1 would be 300... :) ...you get the idea...

Or something of that ilk... could throw in some weather/TOD details if need be...

This would make replay value a lot easier... could even have a copy/paste values feature for sharing.

How has this not been suggested? The single thing that will give GT infinite replayability.
the ability to choose location, enemies, allowed cars/modifications. and number of events within and adjust all possible game/physics settings allowing full control over your GT experience.
And foremost to earn credits and race what and everything you want to.
Wow it looks like we both hit some good topics!

I think the event creator as already outlined in this thread is the single most important suggestion which can be made to PD.

However - to get the most from an event creator there needs to be an appropriate mix of cars and I hope this gets attention by the time we reach GT7. What I mean by this is the apparently haphazard way that PD has approached building up the car list.

We have GT3 - hopefully that list will be expanded
We have GT500, GT350 and NASCAR
DTM has not been updated and needs to be all premium
We have 2 Can Am cars - the Chaparal 2D and 2J, but where are the Mclarens M6B, M6GT, Lolas T70 and T70 Spyder, UOP Shadow DN4, Matra Simca MS660, Ferrari 712, Chaparal 2H?

We have Le Mans prototypes, but many need to be upgraded to premium.

There are many other gaps.

A lot could be improved if a race number could be purchased to stick on the doors and bonnet of all cars - then cars without race versions could at least be made to look more like race cars.

Obviously I want to be able to create many realistic different types of championships and for this a better thought out future car list and some kind of livery editor is required.

We dont need the cars to be premium to do races with them.

If we would, then we already had an event creator. On GT5 Secret Menu.
Actually, choose the standard cars is the big lack of GT5´s "event creator" on secret menu.

What is "secret menu" I keep hearing of. I guess I was out of the loop when that came around.

Gt5 prologue had a menu wer if you imput a specific set of button comands it wud unlock a secret menu. It let u do many things such as choose the AI lineup of cars to race agaisnt etc

Yes, it had on GT5 Prologue.
GT5 has a secret menu too.
It is only unlocked by the same tool as the hybrids.
Cant provide more details because of GTP rules, but thats is easy to find.

I had a kinda similar idea to this, so I won't make a new thread for now. Main differences are that you get no credits for these customised races (since it sounds really hard to get a program to compute a fair payout), and I made no considerations for multiple races.

My idea may be rather extreme, may break some game design 101 principles, and may go completely against what PD wants to create, but please hear me out, ok? ^^?

General idea:
Make the arcade mode a sort of "sandbox mode". One where you can set all of the race parameters instead of having to use ones set by the developers.

A: Car selection:
Unlock every car in the game from the start in arcade mode. Even the X-series. I suspect the players who don't want to work their way up through the pace of the career mode just to drive these cars will appreciate being able to access "endgame" content at any time.

B: Opponent car selection:
Allow us to select which cars the AI will drive in arcade mode. Also allow us to set the starting position of each car, including our car. Since not everyone will want to make so many choices just to get into an arcade mode race, we'll need some default random options. So... allow us to select "random cars of similar PP, weight and power" (default option), "random cars of same racing class" (LMP1, Super-GT, NASCAR; this option will be unavailable for cars with no racing class), or "identical cars" (creates a one-make race).

C: Car Tuning:
unlock all tuning options that would be available in the career mode for the car we selected. For example, I should be able to select a 3000GT and equip it with a Spec 4 turbine. Of course, not everyone will want to mess with their car's tuning, so the default configuration should include just stock parts, default settings and comfort/sports/racing hard tyres (depending on the whether the selected car is a "normal car", "sports car" or "race car").

D: Opponent car tuning:
Allow us to tune opponent cars just like we tune our own. Since this would be a LOT of choices to make, we'll need some quicker ways of applying simple choices to lots of opponents. Maybe have an option for "no tuning" (default, uses only stock parts), "light tuning" (say, spec 1 turbine, upgraded tyres etc), and "hard tuning" (almost all parts upgraded to max, but maybe not the turbine kit). Maybe also have options for "no adjustment" (default, uses default part settings) and "course-specific adjustment" (adjusts suspension and aero to suit the course. For example, use more camber and downforce on Apricot Hill and less camber and downforce on SSRX).
If you want to get more specific, maybe have a menu specifying which parts ALL opponents should use. Then have menus for individual opponents specifying what they should use (this overrides the previous menu). Ex. ALL opponents use a spec 1 turbine EXCEPT one which gets a spec 2 and 90% engine power.

E: AI adjustment:
Allow us to adjust the AI skill of each opponent. Might be interesting if you start the skilled AI and yourself at the back. o.o?

Please correct me if any of these features already exist in GT5 or GT6.

Mmmmm... Delicious one-make races with 15 A.I. opponents...

Car:
Mazda RX7 LM Race Cars (8 colors, so we basically have team-mates)

Tracks for Championship Series:
Mt. Panorama - 8 laps
La Sarthe - 5 laps
Nurburgring GP - 12 laps
Brands Hatch GP - 10 laps
Trial Mountain - 14 laps
SSR5 - 12 laps
Silverstone International Circuit - 10 laps
Apricot Hill - 12 laps
Twin Ring Motegi - 9 laps
Fuji Speedway - 12 laps
Suzuka Circuit - 8 laps
Indianapolis Road Course - 8 laps
Laguna Seca - 18 laps

Sports Hard tires + 80kg ballast for player, Racing Medium tires for A.I., Aids OFF (exepts for ABS if you wish), Qualifying ON, Standing Grid starts, Rubberbanding OFF, Slipstream WEAK, Grip on wet/off track REAL, Weather RANDOM, A.I. Characteristics cranked up to 11, Full Damage ON, Corner-cutting penalties ON, One mandatory pit stop for each race, F1-style championship points.

A guy can dream, can't he? C'mon PD every bit of this is already in the game, we're just not able to use it at once. 16 RB Juniors in a standing Grid Start proves it is all clearly possible. Let's go! :D

I can't believe this isn't getting more attention. Don't people realize that once PD shuts the servers down there is no easy money and arcade mode doesn't pay.

An event creator would be so much fun and keep the game interesting for years to come. It also means we can play the game how we want to instead of relying on a limited amount seasonal races.

Maybe GT6's relatively low sales will force Sony to force Polyphony to address Gran Turismo's usual weak points, like the grind, or the extra options that this thread is asking for.

I didn't include these in my previous post since I think most of them are already available in GT5 or GT6, but I'll put them here for completeness:

E: AI adjustment:
Allow us to set rubber-banding to "off", "positive", "negative" or "positive and negative". ("Positive" means that the AI will race faster if you get in front, but will NOT race any slower than normal if you get behind. "Negative" means the opposite. "Positive and Negative" means the rubber-band works both ways.)
Might also want the AI to rubber-band to each other... need to give that more thought. O.o?

F: Track settings:
Allow us to set all track parameters. That is, initial time, time dilation, initial weather/surface water, weather changeability. Quite sure this is already available.

G: Simulation settings
Allow us to set damage off/cosmetic/mechanical, grip at track edge same/low/real.

H: Race settings
Allow us to choose start type (standing, rolling single file, rolling double file) and density (how many metres between each car or row of cars). Maybe add a pace car for rolling starts?

Gran Turismo seems to be the game where you can race a huge variety of cars in a huge variety of places. Would be nice if the game gave us a bit more control over those parameters. ^^

Another Event I would create

Zonda d'italia.

Regulations: Zondas only.

Grid: (starting) w/ Qualifying

A.I cars:
Zonda LM Race Car (RH)
Zonda C12S 7.3 (RN)
Zonda C12S (RN)
Zonda C12 (RS)

Tracks: (2 rounds) (Championship)
Rome Circuit - 6 Laps
Rome Circuit Reverse - 4 Laps.

the GT6 forum has too many "I'm bored" or "Online is bunk" and "Career mode is too short" threads...

A custom Event Creator IS the answer. Wish there was a way to know what Kaz actually thinks about this. Like what he REALLY thinks about it, not the "we are possibly thinking about adding this in the future" non-answer he gave to Jordan when asked in a 2012 interview...

I like this idea if the event creator becomes reality, i think i use this idea or join your event. :)

So is this now become the create your own style of event thread?
I like the idea of a ten track race series. 5 minute qualify with a 45 minute endurance. RH tires, two pit stops and cars would be 450 - 550 pp then GT500 alternating.
Tracks all longest available
Silverstone, Apricot Hill, Laguna Seca, Brands Hatch, Cape Ring, Daytona Road,Indy Road, Willow Springs, Trial Mountain and La Sarthe

I would love to have this. I did in gt5 with the secret menu and I can only say it was great to be able to do very competitive races. my vote is for this :)
