Everyone write a thank you letter to kazunori yamauchi

Some of you need to lay off. The guy said what he liked about the game. There are other threads to discuss the short comings and if you don't want to thank Kaz then don't. But at the very least pay some respect to the OP and let him have a thread on what he wants. I am sure all of you wouldn't want people to discuss things other than what you want talked about in your very own thread.

Back to the topic. Kaz and PD, I absolutely love the game. Sure some things could be better, but have already had more than my 60 USD worth of fun out of it. I love the feel of driving in the game and I love sitting in my cockpit and feeling like I am actually running an F40 around the Nurburgring. I love the car selection along with the painstaking care taken in modeling the cars. As I said, the game is not without its faults, but the games great things certainly outweigh the bad to me. I love it,

Good point.

Look I don't mean to rain on yall's parade, but you do have to realize this is a pretty passionate sore spot with many of us and this suggestion is sort of like poking a stick at mad alligator.

Nevertheless I get your drift.

So we already have a thank you thread and we already have a suggestions thread... why would this not be closed when so many other duplicates are?

Only You, yamauchi-san, could of made this all possible for us.

Sorry but this made me lol.

I agree the game has taken more criticism than it deserves, but there's hopefully still many updates to come which will address some of the more prominent issues.

I still think this is going overboard though.

"Everyone write a thank you letter to kazunori Yamauchi"

That title includes me, so my reply is justified regardless of tone....

I agree with those that say this is going too far. KY should write me a letter to thank me for buying and beta testing an unfinished game for him. The only reasons I continue to grind away are;

1. I spent £130 on it and don't want my missus to think I'm disappointed (not after I went on about it for so long and almost spontaneously combusted in the shop when I got my hands on it).

2. I am a long-time fan of GT and hold the tiniest bit of hope that maybe, just maybe, the game will be expanded and/or improved as time goes by.

Sry, sounds alittle like kissing PD's.. you know what..

Your a customer. They're a company. They didn't cure cancer. The problem is that they made a game with alot of problems. Praising them is only giving them the green light to do the same or even worse next time.

Criticizing them, and telling what they did wrong is what real fans would do. Developers under the pressure of fans tend to do better than laxed dev's who dont care as long as they get their check.

This is just blind loyalty.

^^^^^^ THIS MAN IS CORRECT

I love the game and think it is phenomenal in so many ways, however everyday there are things where i sit back and think wtf how could they miss that out.

Fact is this is a lesser game in terms of features and longevity than the ps2 gran turismo's , i could go on at length but out of respect for the op i wont.

a thousand thanks !

You say please dont troll by saying negative things... OP you are trolling by overlooking all the negative things and making it look like its the greatest thing since... Who cares... You can overlook the terrible damage system because its a driving simulator and not a damage simulator. Why the hell even have damage if its a half ass implementation, it detracts from whats good about the game, just like standard v premium. Maybe your being sincere but i honestly cant see how someone would say things like you said to make ****e look like diamonds... If i wrote Kaz a letter i'd ask him how he felt about releasing a half finished product again... Will it haunt him like that other game he released incomplete? GT5 spent 6 years in the oven while we were told we were getting perfection, instead we get a work in progress and they're rolling in our money as everyone believed everything they said. Great sales strategy but poor customer service imho.

Sorry for the rant but i cant believe people could possibly feel that way about the game :ouch:

We are getting updates to the game, understand this, not one game is meant to complete your whole being of existence, kazunori is not your twin, people will not get "everything" they want. I understand that, I wanted a lot in this game too that I didn't get, yes it took 6 years, yes some we got 1000 cars but 800 of them are standards (we are getting updates to those too) yes we got a damage system to where the car doesn't blow up and engine doesn't stall, and the car doesn't crumple into a million pieces, yes we didn't get a course maker where you can make your courses from scratch, yes we didn't get a lot of things, understand tho, a lot went into this game, I can see it, and that's what matters and why I am writing my own feelings. I personally think the CRX is the most fun-overall car to drive on the track/daily driver, but that is my opinion. I have stated mine. If you want to complain about the things we didn't get, there are other threads for that, mine is a thank you thread.

Edit - there is a saying I like to live by, I suggest everyone *trolls and flamers alike*, one persons trash is another persons treasure, always remember that. If you don't like the game, or hate that you waited 6 years and you feel completely ripped off, well I'm sorry, that's not this thread.

If you can get me an address, I'll gladly write a letter. i'm extremely pleased with GT5, and unlike some, i can take the bad with the good. in this case....the bad isn't so bad, and the good is awesome.

thank you PD.

There is nothing negative about a "thank you" letter. so yes, everyone that wants to write a "thank you" letter.

Look at the forum and the tone of a lot of the posts and then you make this thread and seem surprised at the reaction? The rose colored glasses are obstructing your view.

I'm with you on this, glad to see there's a few people in this thread that understand what's possible/achievable, and the appreciation of things.

Doubt we'd ever get their address, so I sure hope they read these good comments. :)

Im not saying i dont like the game at all, for the most part its alright... Im just saying what the hell... How can you possibly feel that way, thats insanity. They claimed they were making something amazing, some things might be amazing but clearly the game isnt complete. I mean the box says it has features it actually doesnt have :ouch:, how can they even do that? Thats false advertising. And as far as damage is concerned im not hating on the fact its not as good as the likes of GRID etc etc, i have no problem with the actual damage system in multi. Im hating on the fact that its only available in multiplayer and the career mode which GT is all about has no damage?! Is that not madness??? Thats like buying a Porsche 911 with an advertised 600HP but only being able to use 600Hp on Tuesdays and for the rest of the week your stuck with 100HP, Ok maybe not but im sure ya'll get my point :). I had no expectations for GT5 tbh as i've had many other games to play in the last 6 years but unlike some other recent games i've bought my high points are more than equaled by low points.

This is quickly devolving into yet another one of those threads. And besides, I'm sure we have another thread dedicated to "thank you letters".

Yep, we do.

Direct yourselves there (though CRX, I can merge them if you'd prefer).

In addition, I'd just like to add that the wide-spread assumption that GTPlanet has some sort of tie to PD, other than what they may or may not know about our site, is just that, an assumption. We do not have some direct line to them.
