First off with the audi A5 which should be unveiled in Geneva.

AUDICoupe_355.jpg

The current issue of "Auto Motor und Sport", available from today, is having a longer article about it including some photo shots.

The Audi A5 coupé is a 4.60 m long 2+2 sporty coupé with a touch of luxury, clearly targeting all people for which the Audi TT is too small.

First there will be "only" V6 engines available, a 3.2 FSI and a 3.6 FSI. The already well-known Twincharger (turbo plus compressor) will not be used for the Audi A5.

The Audi A5 coupé will hit the road in 2007.

nice, audi are very expensive though, and not that good value for money

£19,000 for a 1.6 a4 with 10,000 miles 1 yr old?:irked:  👎
£14,000 for a 2.2 x-type with 10,000 miles 1yr old?

Well first off all I would expect a 1.8T quattro audi A4 for that money and secondly you cant really compare second hand prices as the jag depreciates liuke a stone. Might be good for you know but if youwant to sell it in a year or two you will lose out heavily. Plus its just a ford in a black and white suit.

News Update

Cars at geneva from:

Audi

We know which cars will be debuted at different motorshows throughout the year but not too sure which ones at geneva.

Cars we should see this year:

1. A5 concept
2. New TT
3. RS4 Avant
4. New S3
5. Allroad (production version)
6. R8
7. Q5
8. RS6 (late 2006 early 2007)

Cars we should see at Geneva

1. A5 concept
2. New TT
3. RS4 Avant
4. Allroad
5. New S3

This list is purely specualtion as I doubt audi would release so many new cars all at one show. I myself will go with the new TT, new S3, the rs4 avant and the allroad. I doubt audi are going to unveil both the new TT and the new A5 both at one show. Eitehr way there will definetely be atleast one audi concept. Any info I get I shall post.

Lamborghini

Rumour has it lamborghini will have a surprise in store for us at Geneva.

Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini CEO, said that "there will be a nice surprise for visitors to the Geneva Auto Show".

If the nice surprise is just the European premiere for the Miura Concept, we'll be a bit disappointed. We hope it's something a bit more substantial, but declarations like "we're a small business and we can't immediately build all models that we'd like to" and "we don't intend selling too many Lambos"" non lasciano molto posto per voli di fantasia.

The most down-to-earht hypothesis is the rear-wheel drive Gallardo, to differentiate it from the Audi R8, but it might be a Q7-based LM 00x SUV or an Espada 2+2 coupè (in the sketches), which is less likely because of the high development costs associated with a front-engined Lamborghini.

I predict at geneva we will see from lamborghini:

Entry level RWD Gallardo
Muira
SUV concept

It seems likely that we wont see a espada anytime soon as the lambo boss has already said the SUV has preference over the espada and that they cant build both at once. We might also see a stripped out gallardo similair to porsches GT3 and ferraris challenge stradale models.

As for the Miura I have a treat for you guys.

Interior shots from detroit even after lambo said it was a non functional model. They lied to us.

miura_int.jpg

So in Detroit, while the Lambos were declaring every which way, upside down and east bound and down that the Miura concept was non-operational and had no interior (hence the ridiculously dark tint on the windows), a highly reliable source caught a shot while a crew guy moved an HID lamp into position. Combined with his own flash, this pic shows that the Miura concept does indeed have an interior, and in our source’s opinion, “I’m betting you could’ve driven this ***** off the stand if you had the chance.” Our loins are all a-quiver now.

...So is the Audi A5 based of the achitecture that will be underneath the new Passat "Coupe" due out later this year?

Nope. Other than for the smaller platforms, Platform sharing between the two will be dramatically reduced to give the cars different characteristics.

Audi is going sporting and VW comfort.

That Audi coupe is super sexy. Too bad it's expensive or I'd want to trade both of my Focus' for one in a heartbeat. And the engine choices are...good! 3.6l V6? Mmmmmm count me in.

Hmm...every time Audi comes out with a new car, I become more and more disappointed with their styling..... :indiff:

The A5 was a good idea, definitely, but that thing needs its proportions adjusted, I think...

Maybe once I see a larger picture, especially of the rear end, I'll change my mind...

A5 as spiritual successor to the '80s Quattro? Anyone? Bueller?

...Wonder if the A5 will be similar to the Corrado successor all the VW websites are talking about?

Is it? We can't see the rear end in that picture, but if it's got that shape...... :)

Ich druke dir die daumen vor der Quattro! I loved the origional car, and seeing the marque come back would kick-ass. I'm sure HPA will go crazy with the car if it comes Stateside, asuming they would attempt to build a modern B-Class car.

Thats pretty outrageous. But hey, if HPA mods the car out to 550HP with the AWD, it would be killer...

3 Confirmed Audi's for Geneva

Audi RS4 Avant
Audi RS4 Cabriolet
Audi Allroad

This list is still very much incomplete. I reckon we will also see the new TT and S3 with specualtion about the A5 also.

Edit

No RS3 seems likely. The source took the news froma year old article and put a fresh date on its website fooling me.

Audi RS3 given green light

The most powerful, most capable – and most desirable – variant of Audi’s latest A3 has finally been granted the production green light by the German car maker’s chairman, Martin Winterkorn.

Set to receive RS3 badges, Ingolstadt’s new 350bhp rocket will bypass the traditional hot-hatch brigade and land directly in the territory occupied today by the Subaru Impreza WRX, at last providing Europe with a worthy rival to the iconic rally-bred Japanese saloon.

Engineers at Audi’s Sport division – the same team responsible for the ’Bahn-storming RS4 and RS6 – have already started developing the new car, which is planned to reach the UK by mid-2006 in hatchback and Sportback estate bodystyles, as previewed by our exclusive images.

Great news for audi fans

It's about friggin' time!!

....now, if only the A3 didn't look like a misshapen pile of doodoo... :indiff:

Oh yeah I better take this down. The source that got this took it from an article thats over a year old. And in my little girly fit I quickly posted it up before checking it out with some other people. I dont thik we will see an RS3 after all.

...I'm not saddened by not getting an S3 here in the US, as there is still that chance we would get the R32, eventually...

Well, we did get the A4 R32, but from what I've heard, the A5 R32 is going to be the R36 in the usa. The person who can guess what that namechange means gets a cookie.

Yeah, but thats an Audi, not a Volkswagen. Audis fetch a higher price and give lower performance (atleast here in the US in some cases), so the VW is what most people want over here.
