What an excellent race. Awesome racing by Lewis and Ferrari International Assistance didn't make a massive error this time like they have done in the past. The cherrie on the cake however is this...

What a pity his engine failed...

Are they really thinking about holding the Italian Gran Prix somewhere other than Monza next year??
I don't think they will have an italian GP next year if Monza isn't on the calendar. It would be a shame if that is the case as I love that track. there aren't many historic circuits left these days so to lose another one would be devastating to the F1 fans.

Wow...I'm not nearly "informed" when it comes to F1. I respect the sport. I try to watch when I can...but it's just not as popular in the States as it is in the UK and the rest of Europe. But, I hear things from time to time. I thought my friend was wrong when he told me they might not be racing at Monza next year. Damn...That would be a real shame.

Do you know WHY they want to pull Monza from the schedule?

If it is the normal reasons, it will be finance related, race fees, or contract wrangling over something that Bernie Eccleston wants to see. If you have see the film Senna or Rush, you will notice how political F1 is. It is no different now but at least the racing is entertaining.

Ooh! Thanks for reminding me... I think it was this thread, someone was talking about the movie Rush within the last couple of days. I hadn't seen it, but I wanted to...so I went and downloaded a copy. I'll have to give it a watch tonight.
Oh, I can imagine that F1 is extremely political. I just hate to see historic anything get tossed away for piss poor reasons. Fans come out in droves at Monza, don't they? I can't imagine anyone would be happy to see Monza drop off the schedule. Such a shame.
