Correct me if I am wrong but it seems that GT6 has the exhaust notes spot on in the low rev range between 1000-3500rpm. Try the Pagani Huayra and listen to how it sounds on that rev range. Then play a real life video and see how it compares.

Yes, many cars sound authentic in the low-to-mid range.
One particular car I noticed this on is the BMW McLaren F1 GTR. The entire rev range sounds like a stretched idle recording :yuck:
 
The start-up and idle sounds of the Mazda 787B are a perfect match, but give it any throttle and it immediately sounds like a different car. The vacuum cleaner analogy applies well with that car. It's a disappointment given how amazing the real car sounds.

I agree: just listen to the BMW M4. The real car has a low, visceral growl. Here it sounds like a 335 with a vacuum cleaner attached to the engine :odd:

Very true. I think Gran Turismo needs assistance in recording the exhaust sound because they failed dismally at the task.
