Exiting turns?

This is actually backwards, it's higher traction scenarios that teach you more advanced techniques. With comfort hards all you need to know is power-slide, it works in any situation. With stickier tires problems like snap understeer are much more prevalent, which forces you to use every trick in the book to maintain a drift.

I'm not going to get into this debate again though, so I'll just keep it short & sweet this time: Anyone who thinks comfort hards are the only tire you should be drifting on is ignorant and has no place in drifting.
You just called 95% of the GTP drift forum ignorant then. There's many CH drifters that drift in real life, I know a few, there's even a couple in my team. Also in team Burst, Drop5 etc.

TwinTurboCH is a CH drifter, and he was (and still is I think?) a judge for PDF (Polish Drift Federation), he was also 2007 Euro drift champion.

So don't say that CH drifters have no place in drifting, you ignorant fool.

Sure some techniques are better learnt on grippier tires, but some techniques eg Feathering, you can finesse much more and fine tune on a Comfort tyre then a Sports tyre.

Calling CH drifters ignorant? Please, why must you flamebait most drifters on GTP then?

Truthfully, If you want to learn better technique take off everything but what you know you can install with basic hand tools and a floor jack because thats where 90% of pros started IRL.

This is where GT5 flaws as a game and not for drifting, you can easily get the car sideways with at least 160hp on equivalent CH tires in real life.

Uh, guys? I wouldn't dream of drifting in anything other than comfort hard tires. Even comfort soft (same tread design, just softer) weren't as good. With hards I'm able to connect drifts and sustain them for longer because the tires feel like they have less bite. I can also do burnouts when accelerating in a straight line. :sly:

Yay, another thread that started out as a help/advice thread, and has morphed into a tire compound / drive train "discussion".......aaawwweeesome...

To get back onto topic... Aim to hit the inside of the curb and edge of tarmac, try getting more angle than speed and keep as nice and precise to the line as you can.

It was a flame session if you ask me. Tbh the way everyone reacted here kinda reminds me of the kind of closed mindedness that spawned the likes of the kkk and the German nazi party. Why be a part of a public opinion forum if you not open to other people's opinions and assume that anyone not in your mindset is wrong and needs corrected

GT5 is not real life, so just forget your ''tire choice is personal preference'' idea.
We are using CH or CM (depends on the regulation of the drift room/comp) tires because they give the grip that's most similar to normal street or drift tires. The 2nd reason is that even comfort soft will give you such a speed plus that following cleanly is nearly impossible and leading ends up with pulling away like nothing.

We have our wise reasons for using these tires only.

Hey dude, I don't care what tires you drift with or what drivetrain you use. If you can drift with racing soft tires (or whatever) in an AWD car, good for you.

The only problem we have is with people who think they're superior to RWD drifters because they're in an AWD car. Or people like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOxmCUn3dsw this who call sliding a 4WD WRC car "drifting".
