Ok, unlocked endurance races for B-Spec last night. I figured to celebrate I would do the most exciting thing one can do with a B-Spec endurance race, start one and go to sleep.

I stuck 4 lvl 24 bobs and a Toyota Minolta in the Indy 500 and went to sleep. I wake up to find out that they managed to come in 8th......what the hell. They had racing hard tires, they were all level 24 and it was the freakin Minolta. There weren't even any of the normal cars that give the Minolta a run for it's money like the Sauber.

Is there something to the endurance races that I'm missing, are the bobs too dumb to trade off on their own? do I need to tell them how often to pit or anything?

What did you have for pitstop strategy? It should be at 0%, otherwise they keep pitting every lap at the end. And I'm not sure the Minolta is fast enough for the bobs to win, unless you babysit them all the way through. You see, they don't care if someone overtakes them, they'll just keep going at the pace their hot/cold meter tells them to.

You should have run Racing Soft Tires, as you'll likely need fuel before you need tires. Also, make certain your pit strategy is set to OFF.

For some reason, your B-Spec drivers are terrible at overtaking at Indy. As the leader, you will often observe your driver slow down and/or ram into the back of a car he is attempting to place a lap down, while 2nd-5th place will drive right by both of you. It's maddening to watch.

Pit strategy is based on their Physical and Mental stress. Once it starts to run out they will pit. This sounds like a good thing but for some reason they don't rest while in the pits, they come back out with no Physical or Mental stress so they pit on the next lap. this cycles over and over until the race is over. You quite possibly had an awesome lead until all 4 drivers had a run and the original driver came out and started the pit cycle.

With pit strategy set to OFF, they will only pit based on tyres or fuel, whichever comes first. Fuel usually runs out before tyres so there is no strategic reason to run anything other then Racing Softs.

Use the X2010 or the Formula 1, one Bob, soft tires, and Pit strat of zero. Win.

thanks for the help, I think I see where I went wrong.

It's possible that the Minolta isn't fast enough (in bob's hands) to win the indy 500, but when I watched him he got up to 2nd place after the first lap, so I figured he was good to go. I think the pit strategy screwed things up, and I'll go racing softs next time.

@dannyg77: I don't have the X1 or FGT, so the Minolta was my fastest car. I'm digging the white FGT in the OCD right now, so I may buy one tonight.

I don't think you can run higher than racing hards in the first B-Spec endurance race. And I do suspect that pit strategy was the culpret of your finish position. and the fact that you came in 8th place and not 12th or 16th is evidence that the minolta is def fast enough.

It is possible with the Minolta it just needs the right set up. There's one in the tuning forum which I used to win it before I bought the FGT.
