F1 2010 was released late September if I recall. It's probably a fair assumption that F1 2011 will be around the same time. I wouldn't wait for 8 months, when you could be spending that time playing F1 2010 which is a very good game. And you should be able to pick it up cheap by now, so it shouldn't even be a big deal.

F1 2010 is well worth its money. I think Codemasters have said they will be releasing F1 2011 around the same time this year as they did with F1 2010 (24th September). Like Imari said, it's been out for a good 4 months now so it should be fairly cheap and provide you many hours of quality gaming.

If your an F1 fan then you definitely should buy it, it's gameplay is great and superfun, if it wasn't for GT then F1 would be the only game I would be playing still.

If you really love F1, 8 months is too long to wait. Although I am a little surprised at how much on avg 2010 is still going for:

Agreed. I went ahead and spent the 60 bucks 2 weeks after GT5 released. I wasn't satisfied with what GT5 released so I gave this game a shot. Glad I did. If you have not played F1 2010, yes go buy it. It takes some practice coming from the slower paced GT series. If you practice now, you will be ready for sure by the time F1 2011 releases. It is a very under rated game. It has it flaws but what game doesn't. The flaws didn't ruin the game for me one bit. The complaints on F1 are far less than the ones in GT5.

Yes, get it now! It really is a great game. Every race will have your palms sweaty, and it's great fun. Make sure you download the patch though!

I got it only 4-5 days ago and I think "Gran Turismo 5" has it bet hands down on graphics BUT "F1 2010" is much better to play, it's much faster and requires much more attention then GT5 and also this is the first F1 game since "Formula One Champions Edition" which is based on the 2006 cars so in effect it's the first F1 game in 4 years so the chances there will be a F1 2011 released are low (I haven't read anything to prove that there will or won't be a F1 2011 and it may already be confirmed but as far as I know it isn't so that's my opinion)

F1CE was made by Sony. I believe they still had the license for following years, but chose not to use it. For 2010 Codemasters picked up the license instead, because they said they were going to do something with it. They've said pretty much from the first interview on F1 2010 that this was going to be a yearly thing. F1 2011 will exist.

I'm not sold that GT5 is hands down better graphically either. If you take a standard car and put it on a standard track like Trial Mountain, it looks pretty average. All the F1 2010 tracks look better than that. And the rain. Oh God, the rain. F1 2010 looks unbelievable in the rain.

This. It's unreal how realistic the rain is in that game. When F1 came out, I thought it'd be a pretty cool game to grab. I'm one of the handful of F1 fans in America now because of that game. I thought that tactical racing like F1 was more in my interests that making left turns in a NASCAR game, and it was a great holdover until I got GT 5. Just one thing, try not to get swallowed in by the game. It's very addictive.

There is a bit of learning involved, but it's one of the most rewarding games out there. This is the way all racing games should be. I'm not too proud to admit that I spun the car at the 1st corner in Bahrain on my 1st outlap in fp1. I started off in career mode and had a "rude awakening". I've been playing f1 games since Geoff Crammond's grand prix on the amiga, and this is the first f1 game in years that actually provided a challenge.

If only they would up the a.i difficulty...

You will get a feel for the car after a while and learn from your mistakes. It will change your driving style, when you begin to anticipate mistakes and learn that you can't just floor the throttle all the time.

Yeah, get F1 2010 now and practice for F1 2011 .

I will then buy F1 2011 and have both games (each year is somewhat of a historical memory of F1)

Can you imagine 15 future seasons and 15 futu re game versions? :)

I have a lot of ps2 and pc f1 games from the past. It's a nice reminder sometimes to go back. See the old liveries, remember tracks that have vanished. Started playing a game from 98 to keep myself occupied in the run up to the release of f1 2010 and entered "sebastian vettel" as my profile name... The problem is, a lot of f1 games have been terrible. Codies f1 games should stand the test of time... Especially if they release a bug free version with a lot of the more requested features.

Yeah good F1 games have been few and far between. I though F1CE was pretty good considering its intent, but I think Codemasters are off to a good start.

Sure F1 2010 was a bit lacking in some areas but they got the physics right which is the most important thing, now the rest of the game can evolve around it. I was worried when they said they were going to use the same physics engine as Dirt and Grid but they managed to do a pretty good job of it.

Can't wait to see what they can do with F1 2011!

Ha, I started with the same game, but than on an Atari ST. Loved It. Still have It, next to a bunch of other F1 games and It is true, good F1 games are rare, but every once in a while there was one to keep you busy for a while. Codemasters did a better job than I expected, and looking forward to the 2011 version. In the meantime the 2010 will keep me happy. The main issue I have with F1 games is, especially on line, the slightest mistake or contact can put you far behind. Mind you, I think It is the way It should be, but I find the on line AI of F1 2010 lacking compared to off line and I usually race with guys that are more into touring cars, where a little contact is normal, do that in F1 and off you go. But I agree, F 2010 has all the basic ingredients to start of an impressive series of F1 games. Get It now !

F1CE was very good and kept me busy for a long time, but the fact is that it was merely an average game. Sorry for the contradiction, but it was merely "the best available at the time" without having to go back to some 10 year old pc games. A fairly shoddy attempt given sony's resources. I hated the fact that sometimes the car would just go into a spin, and no amount of correction would help. Going back to it after F12010 really exposed it's flaws. But it serves as a nice piece of history and I did get a lot of enjoyment out of it. I'm sure a few years down the line, I'll dig it out and have a few races. The thing it did best was the sensation of speed and it was a pretty game to watch, but very flawed to play.

I'm really looking forward to F12011. I'm looking for a lot of changes to be made, but the handling in 2010 was great and it's been a long time since overtaking has been as difficult in a racing game.

If I still had a pc, I'd still be playing GP2 and GP3. Those games were amazing. I remember I pre ordered grand prix 2 and the game came right before I left for school. Was not a good day at school, put it that way. As for online, I haven't played online for years, so I'm glad the single player is as good as it is. Lot's of (very minor) changes and a few medium changes I'd like to be made. If that happened, I'd be looking at my favourite game. Don't get me wrong, GT5 was great, bur f1's really more my kinda game.
