3)Ferraris should not have airbags. It adds too much weight. If I were to crash a $200,000 car, I'd rather not live to see the results.

But this whole **** is just ridicilous.

1) Britney can drive stick? (at least, sort of) I'm amazed.
2) Poverty, JCE3000GT, and kylehnat: you're all ********s, shut the **** up. You know why.

Ha, women can't drive Ferraris.
Tell that to my sister.

If she could set better lap times in my Acura than I could during AutoCross events, I'm sure she could easily drive a Ferrari, piece of cake.

Telling women that they can't drive Ferraris or any car for that matter is a bit extreme. I would tell them to sit down, buckle up properly and shut the **** up.

Uncalled for.

My statement was merely just a fact to all those woman who dont wear seatbelts. The unsensable ones.

I don't know how Canadia women drive (I'll assume you're from Canada due to your location being BC) but alot of women down here in the states do not know how to drive...PERIOD. It's a FACT that young women cause more wrecks than young men. Infact, today a woman took out a brand new 2006 Honda Pilot with less than 6 miles on it for a test drive and rear ended someone. I mean come on seriously that's just retarded how the hell can you wreck a new car...you're supposed to pay attention MORE SO with a car that's not yours. Yes there are good women drivers just like there are bad men drivers--I've just had it up to my eyeballs with females almost hitting me on a daily basis!

Oh and you can take your profanity and shove it. I was at least civil in my statement--if you're going to reply use some civility and maturity. 👍

Yeah, but there are always the exceptions. My mom hasn't had an accident in the driver's seat in her entire life. She is an exceptional driver.

Please back that up with statistics. As far as I've seen, most fatal wrecks involve young men... and old men acting stupid. Inexperienced women get into lots of nasty little paint scrapers, but I've never seen a woman plow into wall at over 60 mph. That's something young men do.

Ah... here it is. According to the NHTSA, males in the US accounted for 68 percent of all traffic fatalities, and 69 percent of all pedestrian fatalities. And in traffic fatalities, 26 percent of women were unrestrained, while 39 percent of males were... so women don't wear belts?

http://www-nrd.nhtsa.dot.gov/pdf/nrd-30/NCSA/TSF2003/809767.pdf

You're the one who said "Women shouldn't be allowed to drive". That was uncalled for. I find it extremely sexist that when a minor fender bender happens and it's a girl, people will say "no wonder.... women drivers, sheesh ", while if a guy does it, it's either "hey, everyone makes mistakes" or "he's just a dumba$$."

I'm guilty of doing that, too... but it's just wrong. I know a whole bunch of girls who can drive rings around my a$$.

@kylehnat: Britney destroyed her Ferrari because she's a ditz. And I can cite a whole bunch of examples of guys wrecking RSX gearboxes because they were shifting like idiots.

I think the big issue is that the F430 has inadequate safety measures for smaller drivers and front seat passengers, hence the citation of women and children. A more politically correct way of saying it would be: not safe for short people.

I don't understand how that got past Ferrari, and the fix for that shouldn't be that expensive. Still don't understand why they cite "women who wear the seatbelt incorrectly". How many ways can you wear a shoulder harness? And how much would it cost, honestly, to make that shoulder harness point slide up and down so it'll fit correctly? And if it already does, who gives a crap about the people too stupid to adjust it?

1)Women should not be allowed to drive Ferraris
(Britney Spears destroyed a 360 drivetrain by trying to downshift into 2nd gear at 90+ mph; that's proof enough for me)
Wow, a girl blew a transmission. Not like a guy's never done that before.

2)Children should not be allowed to ride in Ferraris
(I wouldn't want them spilling their juice under the seat, would you?)
You're a very selfish man.

We're cool with Ferraris in Aus, we actually wear seatbelts.

I don't think an auto manufacturer would really have to worry about a potential situation where a person would NOT be wearing their seatbelt in Aus... People sue way too much in the states...

Trip over a crack in the pavement... sue!

Its mostly the "world-concious" Liberals and social activists that cause problem.... When Bill O'Reiley says that there is a culture war going on, its stupid stuff like this that makes it seem more and more evident...

Funny, not that long ago most cars didnt even have anything to do with safety....

Which makes me wonder, if the Shelby Cobra had just come out, would those fanatic liberals at the NHTSA be picking apart that car as well?

I'm betting it was the F1 gearbox. And that has nothing to do with female drivers. Dropping gears and getting lost in the electroboxes is a lot easier in the F1 style buttons, where you can't physically feel where you are in the gears. Even race cars have large gear # indicators on/in the dash area.

Until you have kids, you can't talk about what you would and wouldn't let them do. I have a friend who loves his 4 year old son more than his Ferrari, which any mature, civilized human being would. He gives his son rides in it all of the time. The kid has the biggest grin in to world when daddy lets him turn the key and hear the 10 cylinders box out a hearty rumble.

Until you own a Ferrari, you can't talk about what you would and wouldn't do with the car. I know if I crashed hard enough to deploy the airbags, I would certainly want to live. You obviously don't appreciate your own life (and respect for your family) enough to want to live through an accident. I would certainly rather live, and see my crashed car, than die and leave my family and loved ones in misery with my death.

Well, I can see that the Humor Police is out in full force. Must be that special time of the month again.

I'd let my kid ride in my Ferrari. I'd just tell them not to bring any food onboard. The food and drink would probably all spill due to the high g-forces the ferrari will produce while accelerating, braking and turning.
And yes, i would want to live and see a squished ferrari. I'd rather not let my family have to deal wiht my deaht. Plus, if your that rich to own a ferrari, then just by anoher one.

Is his Ferrari not firing on all cylinders? - or does he let his son play around with the pretty red spark plug leads? ;)

.....or perhaps your friend's name is Michael or Rubens?

Nope, Ferrari's transmission ECU will not let you downshift when impossible to prevent something like that.

Eek. :embarassed::scared:

His '89 Testarossa runs all 12 cylinders very happily (seen here in black, flanked by other Red Heads).

Actually, you can tell he was being sarcastic and humorous, and you're taking things a bit too seriously, no offense.

kylehnat
You're right. Now if you'll excuse me, I've gotta go rob an orphanage.
Can i come too? :dopey:

Ok, show me in his post the "sarcastic" and "humor" parts cause as far as I'm concerned, if you don't want to live after crashing a $200K+ car, that's not sarcastic or funny at all, and frankly, I couldn't care less about your death if you did it.

...Considering your insurance for the $200K Ferrari should not only replace your car, but maybe even move you up a model. Anyone who owns a Ferrari will have more insurance than they would ever need, so I wouldnt worry about wrecking one other than the fact that you are wrecking a hand-built Italian masterpiece.

iceburns288
If it's that obvious, why did 5 people reply to it?

Must be that special time of month thing... let me check my tampon... nope, nothing there. :indiff:

Actually, women are much smarter than men. A lot of them refuse to drive. (At least my wife does) Overdeveloped sense of self-preservation, I think.

People who buy Ferraris should be aware of the car's capabilities and incapabilites before purchasing. I really don't think you would buy a Ferrari if your priority is safety.

Now that I reread kyleinhats post I have to agree that he said it in humour. I didnt get it that way at first though neither.

I can see it either way, other than the "I'd rather not live to see the results" part which is obviously humor.
