Concept cars aren't fake cars, just show ready one off prototypes. Like the many cars in the game, there run and drive (maybe not at full throttle) but are no means fake. If concept cars are in the game, we are the few that get to drive them so i welcome it. Putting drawings in the game is another matter, Nike Two for example, there never gonna make it but it was in the list of pictures they showed. Takes away the simulator part for a more arcade look.

I agree. The path this forum is taking lately is becoming somewhat uncomfortable.

Sometimes I feel like I am on GameFAQ and not on the world's biggest GT community where supposedly there are people that shares the passion for GT series, automotive industry, history and love for cars.

I don't know, maybe I am getting too old for this.

I used to drop by this forum almost every day to check on the what's happening, I just got annoyed with all the comments. Now i drop by no more than twice a week to check for news and all i get is 90% complaints from whats seems to be spoiled kids. :yuck:

These "fakes" are made by the actual companies, therefore are more a lot more "real" than if they were to be made by PD, like the Formula GT.

These concepts are real concepts, PD's arent, and are a lot closer to being produced than the later. Even if these concepts don't make it they still were made by the companies behind them, so they represent each brand just like specific cars do and the ideas will still be on their minds.
If it's not built with running gear, it's not real either. PD is an actual company too (or at least part of an actual company, ie Sony), so I don't see the distinction. A concept is a concept, it can be made by a car company, by a drinks company, a video game developer or a shoe company, there's no difference.

It becomes "more real" if it is built in the real world, but there's no real difference between a digital model made and designed by Alfa Romeo or a digital model made and designed by PD. A design can influence future brand design direction, but that doesn't make the concept car itself any more "real". If Alfa Romeo build a running prototype, the car jumps ahead of a PD creation, otherwise it's still in the same boat.

Also, a car like the Formula GT fills a gap in the game, and represents a type of real world racing. The ostentatious concepts that PD will likely give us in GT6 will not do anything of the sort.

I can honestly share the same feelings... 👎

+1

Again, we know a forum is made of discussions. Good and bad points but the ammount of complaints is unbearable. We're getting an awesome game, improved in almost every way possible from GT5 and there's still complaining. We're going to receive a lot of cars developed only and specially for our game and... more complaints. For gods sake.

I'm all in for concept cars. I'm a car nut/lover and work as a graphical designer and love design in general, specially car design.

You are forgetting that a concept made by Alfa Romeo or by a fancy designer as an Alfa Romeo request has way more pedigree and relevance in Automotive journalism than a video game company concept, or a shoe company concept.

I like having the concept cars, the stuff I didn't like were the generic fantasy race cars from older GTs that took a production car and slapped some GT/Playstation livery on them.

A "fake" race car version of a production is very different from a "fake" car from the ground up. The former is swapping in original parts, a body kit and upgrades, and creating something that could be done in real life and be on the track. The latter is something more unique but also something from the ground up that has no grounding in reality.

I don't mind "fake" single-seater race cars like the Formula GT, but I'm not a fan of over-the-top nowhere-near-production-ready kitschy looking things that will never have any real world counterparts (with running gear).

I see your point. It would be better to say that they have more in common with past concept cars that have only appeared in GT then.

I'd still like them to nab the MC4-12 from Chrysler, they've gotten in with SRT so i suppose that shouldn't be too hard.
