Damn! that wheel is exactly what i'm looking for! Rpm meter buttons, race wheel, beefy design! It will work with ps3 too right? Wonder how much it will cost?

Edit: After looking I guess there is no rpm meter?

Still no info about that, my guess is that this wheel will be a little cheaper than the GT2, as we can see only the handgrip positions are wrapped in alcantara. This might be a Xbox 360 only wheel, that will make it affordable for most people.

Apparently it is cross platform. That is what darin gangi says on insidesimracing

I'm hoping you can buy it separate from Pedals. Would make it easier for people with CSP. Maybe it could be Carrera Pricing.

At least we know today we see what Thomas has in store!

Plus news on the CSS and CSH, just when is anybody's guess.

I really don't care about a new wheel and am not bummed out by that at all. Tech moves forward, that's obvious.

I am waiting on a GT2/CSP and Shifters but the way I see it I will always have the Clubsport Pedals. The stock shifters I will glady use for now with no problem. I want a quality shifter that works on the PC. So either a thrustmaster shifter that works on PC and I use my standard Fanatec shifters on console games, or the Clubsport shifter that will work on both console and PC with my GT2 wheel. Which ever shifter is higher quality I'm buying.

A wheel can always be replaced down the line, if you have good pedals and shifters the investment isn't so bad down the road to just buy a new wheel.

Crap, must fight temptation to order.... Need more info guys come on Thomas make the freakin' presentation and give more detail. And more importantly, mass produce this thing.

Want to know pricing & availability.

What a dissapointment, I was hoping for something without a Forza logo in the rim. Since I only play Gran Turismo...

They also are announcing another wheel. Maybe that will do the trick. Lol I only play gt too but i might get this wheel.

I am only tempted to order the wheel for Forza. But I know the wait times will be atrocious.

If it wasnt for Forza I wouldnt get another wheel right now. Wallet still hurting a little from t500rs + WSP and soon to be released shifter

Looking nice..

And Mr Latte wins the "clairvoyant prize"...

I liked much much more the Audi rim, I hope they make more variants (just dreaming...).

Back a page or so I was saying it was an FM4 wheel as well and the other rim was just a prototype.

However, I was also expecting a 2nd budget wheel to be announced. And as I expected, MS did announce one. But alas, it sucks much worse than I ever could've expected by the looks of it

GJ Fanatec, new FM4 wheel looks nice. I like that FM logo. Nice extra touch

But alas, I expect them to have major issues filling the orders*

Oh yeah someone mentioned that a few posts up I thought. Thomas already said the xbox equipment is the expensive part. They just toss in ps3 compatibility in their wheels to help make the prices more appealing

Microsoft owns ALL rights to its third party accessories. SO, if you want to be compat with the 360, they want a piece of your pie. Hence why the PS3 has truly outsold the 360. Licensing rights.

InsideSimRacing says that wheel is cross compatible, not just an xbox wheel.

Yeah but instead of a Forza branded wheel I would have preferred something like this... (or like the Audi), (this was alredy proposed on the Thomas Blog):

This, see red arrow on photo, looks a lot like the Fluid Damped Steering system as seen in the ECCI wheels.

Ref 24th May

Fanatec / Me thinks your "Chinese" takeaway is ready for collection.
Mr Gangi has warm plates in the oven, he awaits your arrival and some F1 fun.

Leave quick before the "Ash Clouds", lol.

The people here are due another fortune cookie, don't you think? :)

Thomas was due to fly to China to collect his new "Babies" before going to LA. Please not thats plural. He personally told me that via PM 2 weeks ago but I didn't want to say on the forums here. Besides some others on the forums perhaps had some idea on things.

I referred to this above as a "Chinese Takeaway" and knew a meeting was for taking place at ISR were Darin and the team will have a forth coming video interview on F1 2011.

Now how I'd love to of been there, nice going Thomas and look forward to seeing more. Oh and hope the teasing and "White suit" didn't come across as too annoying. All just for a bit of fun.

I'm excited to learn more and enjoyed the speculation in this thread...
So what about the shifter guys and what else might be new with this wheel....

Oh........

Does anyone know something about the "CSR wheel", I found this in the Fanatec Wheel Fansite.

"The wheel is multi-platform compatible and will debut at E3 today along with another new wheel Fanatec called "CSR wheel""

Is this confirmed or is it just a rumour?

That's what Daring Gangi wrote in their forums, so it must be true. I am still wondering what type of wheel it is. For now I'd bet my money on a wheel that is similar to this Forza Elite wheel, but not Forza branded for more hardcore audience. We will find out soon.
EDIT: Or CRS may just be the wheel that was posted on twitter earlier today.

I'm not getting anything on google about a CSR wheel. This Forza presentation needs to happen pronto to get us out of the dark.

I think that is just for heat dispersion on the motor.

However I see 2x Motors not a single Mabauchi 550

My guess is a seperate motor for Left/Right wheel rotation.

Yeah still a long 4 hour agonizing wait to see what MS plans to do for FM4 to ensure people have options for racing wheels. If it's all just Fanatec then I have the feeling a lot of people will be w/o a wheel :scared:

Forza at 5:20 PST live
