I've been trying to figure out how to get the Fanatec Clubsport pedals clutch to work in GT5P. I know about pressing triangle. My buttons have not been remapped in game. I've tried pretty much anything. Pressing triangle after I get the START message. Pressing triangle before being given control of the car before the start message. Tried Waiting a bit after the start message and then tried pressing triangle. Nothing seems to enable the clutch.

Which is why I'm looking for other clubsport users that plays GT5P.. Have any of you gotten the clutch to work before I pull more hair out? :D I'm beginning to think it just won't work.

No assists, pro physics, simulation mode on. Wheel used is Fanatec Porsche S Ultimate, latest firmware.

Thanks.

I've had a similar problem with the standard wireless pedals connected to a PWT. The clutch kept disengaging every few seconds. It turned out to be the cable that connects the shifter to the wheel that was bad. I installed a new cable and since everything has been dandy. :-)

I don't think that's the problem because everything works fine in Forza3, rFactor, Live for speed etc..

I have the wireless dongle so it works wireless for ps3/xbox/pc but I've tried with USB cable just to make sure it wasn't some interference and that didn't help either.

So strange that I can't get this to work. It works perfectly fine in all other games.

What I have tried so far:

Go to arcade, start a time trial, the race starts, I get the start message, I press triangle.. nothing.

Go to arcade, start a time trial, the race starts, before I get the start message I press triangle.. nothing.

Go to arcade, select time trial, before the race starts when you get a list of your previous times I press triangle.. nothing.

I have tried the above with the triangle button on the wheel, and just to make sure also tried the above with the triangle button on the controller.. no clutch for me :(

Welp, figured out what was wrong. When I have the sequential shifter on, clutch is disabled no matter what you do, so you can't use a clutch without having the H shifter connected, and then the flappers are disabled.

Haha, why didn't I find that thread earlier, could have saved some hair pulling.

But I do agree, why should I not be able to use the clutch with a sequential? The real hardcore sims like Live for speed, rfactor, iracing lets you use a clutch just fine with the flappers or the sequential, Forza3 also no problems. It's not like it gives me any advantage, quite the opposite, but I like to clutch, heel/toe, rev match. The fanatec wheel and clubsport are fantastic quality, the H pattern gearchanger not so much, I'd break that thing within a week.

Thinking about modding on a Frex Hshift+ 8 speed H pattern shifter if the new fanatec shifters takes to long to come out, price be damned.

You think that you are going to break the shifter but it is strong.

Maybe your right, it just feels so flimsy.

I'm thinking about getting this http://www.frex.com/gp/shifter/index.htm , there's a guy that has mod info and everything for the fanatec wheels.

Holding out a bit until there's more info on the new fanatec shifter, but if it's not metal and smooth as silk, or at least clubsport type quality, I'll get the frex.

Kind of old article, but I think it'll answer your questions about the ClubSport shifter: http://www.racesimcentral.com/news/2010/04/fanatec-clubsport-shifter-specs-announced/

I emailed Fanatec about the CSS a few weeks ago and they said it should be available Q2 2011. Doesn't seem all that long when the Frex H-gate is £300/$490 USD and the CSS should be around 100-ish :)

Just another thing for you to check.
Are you using cars that use a shifter in real life? If I remember right, in GT5p with cars like the GTR, you can only use paddle shifters. Make sure the cars you are trying it with use it in real life, or it won't work. I might be wrong about this, because I haven't played it in awhile.

On your list of things you've tried. I think you have to wait until the race starts to get it to work. I'm pretty sure you need control of the car before you hit triangle. Also if you hit it again I think it turns it off. Again, I haven't played it in over a year, so hopefully my memory is better then I think it is.

I somehow missed the post about you figuring out what was wrong. Just read it, so I guess my advice was pointless.
