@DomB_Fanatec
My CSL PS4 tends to turn violently left and right in supersonic speed if I take my hands out of it or if I'm parked on the track and I touch the wheel.
Does anyone knows why this happens?
hi guy, do you have the same problems as in this video? then only repair, I had it 2 times after the revision, the base worked for 2 months and the same problem started. I can’t love the fanatic after this. Do not be offended just these are my thoughts.

He is probably referring to this behavior of the wheel:

Anyone else's wheel do this in blue and purple mode? I have a ticket with Fanatec and gave them the link to my video below.

It's one of two drawbacks with the wheel. The other is when in blue mode, the wheel just clunks along when the tires lose grip, so I've gone back to purple mode. I really love the enhanced steering accuracy over the T300.

Just an update. I turned off the DRI setting on the wheel and the issue is gone. Thanks guys!

Not as hardcore as it doesn't do it while I'm driving but if the car is standing still and I give the wheel a little tap, it just goes crazy left and right.
@super_gt that idea occurred to me. Maybe some setting is too hard. I'll follow your advice and check that out. Thanks.

Hello to everyone.

Im having an issue with my CSL Elite Wheelbase for PS4.

It happens from time to time, but it started to annoy me a lot.

Sometimes when i play the wheel disconnects from my PS4 and snaps full force to the side im steering to. I have then to unplug the power supply cable from the wheelbase to shut it down.
Another issue, everytime i change my profile on my steering wheel, when i press the settings button, the screen flashes, as if the PS4 gets a cut or spike of electricity.

I hope @DomB_Fanatec can help me out.

Last night I raced on R3E with no problems. Tonight i get on and the PC doesn't recognize the wheelbase. if its in PS4 mode, the Fanatec software sees the base, then tells me to switch to the red PC mode to update, but as soon as I do that, the wheelbase disappears from the list. @DomB_Fanatec any suggestions before I create a help ticket. The base works fine on the PS4 Pro.

That's a bit odd, but it doesn't sound like a hardware issue. I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the Fanatec driver package.

Try this. Of course the usual procedure to have everything connected (wheel/wheel base and pedals) stand including connecting USB to PC.
After powering on the base switch to red PC mode. Launch the Driver. If after the Driver loads if you don't see the wheel or whatever indicated in the window, turn off the base once again and back on (see that the wheel goes through its usual start up procedure rotating right, left and back to center). See if the wheelbase appears in the window now. If it does continue to test, update/flash or whatever.
Just mentioning because that is what I had to do because at first I didn't see mine indicated in the window either until switch off and back on.

I've created a support ticket and got in an e-mail exchange with a great guy from Fanatec, Phillip. Anyways, we tried to sort it out but nothing helped. I'm sending my wheelbase to Fanatec today if i make it in time, if not tomorrow morning, for repair. We will see what they say then

Can someone answer this question please, is it possible to use a handbrake with the fanatec elite wheelbase and pedals that IS NOT the fanatec handbrake? If I had a handbrake with a usb could I simply plug that into a generic rj12/usb adaptor then run a rj12 cable from that into the wheelbase? Or would the adaptor have to be the specific fanatec adaptor? And if it was would it even work then?

any info would be great

regards

No, that wouldn’t work

If you were on PC, you could connect the USB handbrake direct to the PC

it might be possible for it to work via a DriveHub, but you’d have to check the models to be sure...

Just bought the csl elite package, got delivered a few days ago, awaiting the load cell to come back in stock now, after using a t150 and g29 before, the Fanatec is in a different league altogether, god knows how anyone drives with a DD wheel that's 3-4 times stronger than the csl elite.
Mainly play gran turismo sport but have just bought assetto corsa too.
Possibly looking into getting a pc so I can get into vr racing too. Anyone on the fence about buying one then I'd say get it ordered, you won't regret it

You can say that again.

Has anyone got a load cell peddle for sale for the csl elite pedals, they arnt in stock until June on the fanatec website
Not sure what country you in but there’s a few on eBay Uk, unless your desperate I would wait as your gonna pay over the odds, I was looking at a Fanatec handbrake on there and it sold for more second hand than buying it brand new just to give you an idea.

Yeah the prices are mental at the min, selling second hand for far more than they are brand new, crazy times, I'll just wait until they are available from fanatec if I can't find one reasonably priced second hand

Two convenience issues:
Standard CSL Elite Wheel
1. The shifter pedals are pretty far away for my fingers. Any ideas on how to mod that?
2. The buttons are all unreachable in my driving position. Are there any mod ideas for that?

One solution for the standard Brake Pedal:
I put a screwdriver bit right in the middle of the foam bumper thing. Has exactly the required length, about 3cm.
Now I have a perfect hard stop at the end. No more calibration problems.

Couldn't you just swap out the foam spacer for one of the other black rubbers?

Ok reread, sorry not the load cell kit but the standard brake pedal.

Yeah, had the load cell, but returned it. Way too inconsistent, this one. Other sets might be better, did not try.
Also no deadzone. I always rest my foot on the pedal, where else should it go?
Ah, right, probably the sell dead pedals too (joking, but not sure)

With my mod, I now have about half the usual travel with increasing force (due to the foam) and a hard stop due to the metal inside the foam.
Should get a patent on this.

CSL Elite pedals?
You can set a deadzone on the pedals, I have the Loadcell pedal which is awesome, and you can set the brake deadzone (and all other settings) on the PC and it will stay even on PS4, and you can set the deadzones min and max for clutch and accelerator via the tuning menu on the wheel.
