No. The rattles when understeering are not normal imo. Way too strong and noisy. There s something wrong.

They have been added intentionally for understeer.

And it’s something similar to what Ive felt in more than a few cars in real life when sliding the front tires hard in understeer on real racetracks. So calling it entirely unrealistic is wrong.

Yes, if you are using a Fanatec DD Pro or a Fanatec DD+, there is a way to tone that specific Effect down and make it more blend in and balance it.
Simply turn the FEI down from 100 to your desired level until it feels pleasant to you.
Keep in mind though that in that case, you should also lower the INT Setting.
So yes on Fanatec Direct Drive Wheelbases, it's the FEI setting.
And the judder will diminish and feel way more nuanced.

Weight transfer as well as suspension dynamics are not affected by tweaking the FEI Setting.
FEI will only have a noticeable effect on understeer judder as well as curbs and road effects in general.
Keep in mind though that anything down to 70/100 FEI won't have a negative impact to the FFB in general and as a whole.
As long as you lower the INT.
With decreasing FEI Values in 10 increments steps, the INT should be lowered by 1 click.
That will lift and amplify all toned down effects which are impacted by having the FEI lowered, but in a way that the heavy judder will feel more smoothed out, whilst still getting all toned down effects amplified, which in the end will feel very balanced.
Nothing will feel overpowered or too amplified.
Like an Equalizer having all frequencies at around 0db.
Where with FEI 100 some areas are just too harsh like being at +5db for example the understeer judder in this particular example and therefore will feel unnaturally harsh.

If you understeer like crazy, but right at the limit of grip and sliding like an On/Off switch? No. But maybe we don't experience the same rattling.

Everyone should always mention what tyre and car combo they are using; i mean in GT Sport i remember comparing my steering inputs with a Top 10 driver who probably used T-GT... Track was Redbull Ring Short (wet) and i couldn't steer more than 45-90° without the rattle, whereas the other guy steered almost 180° seemingly without having the rattle. GT7 is no different and on Comfort Tyres it's like ON/OFF switch.

Good point. I rarely run on anything but racing tires unless it’s an event that doesn’t allow it, like the weekly or Sport mode lap time challenges. Left to my own devices, I mostly drive race cars in this game, let alone ever run on comfort road tires. So you make a fair point I didn’t even think of.
Even though I have nearly every car in the game, I don’t particularly enjoy driving road cars on road tires outside of top performers like relatively modern performance cars. And even those I prefer to put slicks on LOL

Ok so tried it out this morning and comfort softs are fine. Good progressive response. Can’t complain.
The comfort hards though felt a little wonky. Well. First. They are a dumpster fire tire with so much less feedback. But the gradient of braps when dragging an inside tire into slide felt disproportionate and weird. Rolling the treads over inducing slide felt pretty ok though. Didn’t get a chance to try medium, but the hards could be the victim of a typo/transposing.

I have that wheel. It's better than the previous V1. Mostly because it's 1 pound lighter, the electronics were updated, and the latest accessory magnetic shifters can be attached. I had the original V1 and loved it. When the funky switch finally stopped working after 10 years, I updated to the V2 and love it even more. I added the Podium Advanced Paddle Module to it which gives me more button options. It's the only wheel I use for GT7 and ACC. I wouldn't mind picking up a second round wheel, but the one I want has a firmware bug that's not expected to be addressed until perhaps mid-year according the the FANATEC forum. Just know, if you go with the BMW GT wheel, you should use gloves. I use gloves, and even so, the Suede does look a little matted, but I'm OK with that.Hello Guys
