Fanatec PWTS Clutch not recognized

Hi guys,

i tried using the searchfunction but didn't find anything closely related to my problem, so i made this thread, hoping one of you has maybe made a similar experience.

I've got the Fanatec Porsche Turbo Wheel S and it works fine apart from the clutch function. I used it for the first time on GT5P yesterday (played FM3 before that) and realized right away that i don't need to press the clutch pedal to shift up or down in gear 1 -4 . The pedal wasn't even recognized when fully pressing it, meaning that nothing happend. But then i wanted to shift from 4th to 5th and all of a sudden i was in neutral and from there on HAD to use the clutch pedal to be able to shift up/down.

I've tried re-starting the wheel before loading the game, and re-connected the cable from the pedals to the wheel itself too. No change .

Did one of you maybe have the same issues, and found a solution to this? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

tl;dr Gears 1-4 no clutch needed, 5th = neutral and enables clutch.

Do you press triangle before a race?

i didn't. do i have to? i changed from automatic to manual transmission in the options (obviously) and thought that would be all that's needed.

Yes you always have to press Triangle button In prologue to make it work. YOu press the button when you race, once you have the control of the car.

I have the GT3 RS V2, and reacts the same way you described if i don't press the triangle, but in addition i have to press the combination of the button on the left side of the wheels body plus the start button, otherwise on GT5P my wheel don't reacts...

From the manual:

"SWITCH BETWEEN MODES
Compatibility mode for Playstation 3

IMPORTANT: On the Playstation 3 some games require to change the mode of the Porsche GT3 RS Wheel in order to be fully compatible.To change the mode, press “base button” + “Select button” at the same time.

Please note that on some Playstation 3 games it is required to use the SIXAXIS controller for Navigation in the games menu.

Please do not switch to compatibility mode if your are still in the XMB menu of the console system. You need to switch to compatibility mode right after you started a game."
