fastest car for 5k

The main difference is that the SN95 body is several hundred lbs more than the Fox. And...i believe thats all. So i guess saying that the engine isnt as potent isnt true, its just that it doesnt get delivered as well because of the extra weight it has to haul around.

There, that makes a lot more sense.

If I was planning on making an all out dragster, weight would have been a deciding factor and I would have gone with the 1989 hatchback. Since this is a street application, I went with the styling I prefer more. However, the hatch does have a certain charm to it.

Which reminds me, why does the Focus/Protege/etc. get the title of "hot hatch". The 170HP I4 is lukewarm compared to the 225HP V8.

All in all, I got a good deal on a vehicle in excellent condition. I'm very pleased with my purchase. It's getting harder to find a GT/LX hatch, in good condition, that hasn't been modified. I wanted a car with low mileage that was unmodified, so I could modify it myself. I got all of this with my '94 GT.

hey, cool!! you will be very pleased when you start modifying the thing yourself, I reccomend some GT40 aluminum heads and even a centrifugal or whipplecharger (plenty of options). these mustangs can be real monsters if you tune them down properly, and with the abailability of parts and shops that know how to really tune your car so it will be more potent and handles better, you will have a very good time with yer V8 :D

Gas mileage is a killer. Do you pay for it?
here in the UK where gas is over $5 per gallon it pales in comparison to what drivers under 25 have to pay for insurance. if im paying $4000 or more a year for insurance on a car that is neither bigger than 3 litres or a V8, when im driving it for less than 2000 miles in a year, gas is the least of my worries.

I agree. But in the UK, one would be a complete idiot to purchase a five-oh. Basically, at anything over $2.50, it'd cost more than it makes sense to pay.

I pay well over that for insurance, but I didn't start out that way - he won't either. Gas is his biggest problem.

They can't charge you with posession of the same stolen property twice. [/B]
What country are you from? Double Jeopardy only states you can't be tried for the same crime, in the same time place, more than once. You can't commit the same crime twice on any more or less than 2 occassions. If your caught twice, that's two arraignments.

Maybe Chi-Town is different.
