Fastest FWD Car

Ok I was in a chat room and there was a big arguement over what the fastest FWD car in the world was. I assume they ment tuned since I know that a Civic is not the fastest stock FWD car in the world.

So to clear some things up does anyone know the fastest FWD car in the world, tuned and stock?

There is a Civic that holds the world record for an FF at 185.3 MPH and I am pretty sure it is street legal. Wil have to get back to ya on that...

I heard some news that a team calling themselves the 'Ramchargers' (like the originals) and will have a Stratus and will try to break the 200 MPH mark. They might do it as 2 of them are related to 2 of the original 'Ramchargers'...

And as for the 1/4 Mile car I do believe its a Neon

I know the last 3 fastest FWD in the past 3 years or so.

This is for stock cars and is in order of 0-60 times.


The RSX Type-S took from the Integra Type-R when the RSX came out and did a 0-60 of 6.2 seconds, as tested by car and Driver. Then in 2002 the Nissan Altima came along and did a 0-60 of 5.95 seconds,as tested by C&D. Now the Neon SRT-4 has come along and done a 0-60 of 5.7 seconds by C&D.

According to the link it's the world's fastest FWD DSM, but not the world's fastest FWD car.


PunkRock probably knows what the world's fastest modified FWD is. It's probably that white/gold Civic CRX, it runs 7's I think, but I dunno.

I was going to say the Neon for 0-60 but 12sec Civic pointed that out.
The Alfa Romeo 156 GTA has a top speed of 250kmh, and I cannot remember the model but so does one of the Volvos, V70 or S80 model.
Its likely one model (Viggen?) from the new SAAB 93 will be up there as well if it remains fwd and not 4wd.

Id say that for overall quickness (accel), and fastness (top speed) it would most likely be the SRT-4.

that is 188mph if i am correct.

that is wicked. im guessing an RSX type s could do 150mph tops. and thats a generous estimate.

No, 250kmh is 155mph!
And I am pretty sure the RSX/Integra has a top speed of 235kmh (around 145mph), I will have to check. This is the 6spd, 200hp (150kw) RSX isnt it?

In that case I wouldnt care about top speed, I would care about driving feel and handling. As long as it had adequete power. But then again, I wouldnt be driving a FWD car now would I.

Silly me. I swear I put in 250 * .62 into the calculator on my desktop. But yes, I saw 145mph in the back of a road&track just now. I dont know how accurate that is though.

This question should have been more specific...........
