Depends on what you regard as a hatch but i'd say the Impreza '07 is the fastest. 500+ hp with 4WD.

Regardless if it is a sedan, close enough for me.Those cars won't even come close.Go buy one and tune it and use Praiano"s tune as a base, those cars and most other cars are done like dinner.

Appreciate what you're saying, and I'm sure Praiano will appreciate the advertising, but a Saloon is a Saloon, not a Hatchback. If you're allowed a Saloon in the Fastest Hot Hatch Thread, then I'm having a Bentley Speed 8. I'll be drinking tea whilst waiting for you at the finish line...👍

I understand what your saying but get the car and give it a try.Lots of fun beating a lambo, ferrari and pretty much anything else.

The fastest, most competitive hatchback in the game is the Civic Type-R 2004, with around 220 bhp and 1190 kg it knocks any rival off the track..

Especially in championship white :scared:

There was a hatchback championship done here a few months back and the subaru impreza was proven the fastest street hatchback, followed by the peugeot 205 t16 and mitsubishi tarmac.

I had to sign up...I couldn't let some of these views remain unreplied!

The folllowing comments are based on the stock cars all driven back to back on Nurburghring GP/Dwhich include the big straights testing pure power plus both tight and flowing corners for handling.

120d - yes lots of torque but struggles on high speed straights as the power curve dies at higher rpm. It's faster than a Cooper S round London for example tho.

Lancia Delta - whoever says this is fast has never compared it to anything other than a Volvo 240GL. The weight of the 4wd cripples acceleration and the engine asthsmatic, but it does sound good.

Golf mk4 Gti (150bhp) - decent for a 150bhp car due to turbo but is too underpowered to cope with 200-230bhp hatches. Once tuned the 1.8T turbo lag makes it bog down out of slow corners too much.

Golf mk5 Gti (197bhp) - much more hot hatch like in handling and good low down grunt but there are still many faster hatches.

Volvo C30 - Shares its engine with the Focus ST and is a real front runner. Tight handling if a little heavy in the slow corner.

Alfa 147 GTA - Quickest in a straight line of all the hot hatches but understeers and spins its wheels too easily due to all that power.

Civic Type R 04 - the FASTEST non DLC hot hatch. Light, rev hungry, and well balanced.

I have tested all the others too but these were just mentioned in the thread.

(i haven't included the impreza Sti 07 as I see it in a class of its own!)

Been playing around with some of the hatchbacks on the game...any thoughts what the fastest one might be?

so far my best hatchback has been my S3

What's your definition of 'fastest'?

Fastest in a straight line? or on the track?

well best lap time is what I was looking for...sorry for not being more clear on that.

Hmm.. the golf maybe? probably the HPA Motorsports Stage II R32?

I'm not overly familiar with hatches since they're not a type of car I drive very often. However when I do it's usually the car I resort to.

More important, what's his definition of "hatchback?"

Anything with a hatch? Or just two-box hatches? How many doors? Etc.

Personally I like to argue that an FD is a hatch back for giggles.

But I'm going by the conventional image of a hatch back that most people agree on (civics, golfs, swifts etc)
