Well ur wrong. Mine hasent broke at all even on the endurance races.
Just keep it cool and there wont be any problems with the ps2. Hmm cool air in the middle east, now where do u find that?

ok so i am new here but have an understanding of the ps2's internals as i have opened it up before (big bertha not slim) to clean the lens due to disk read errors. So my ? is is it ok to leave it in standby 24/7?

Leaving it on standby (with the red light) like that is perfectly fine..mines constantly on standby when I don't actually have it on

Mine has been on standby for as long as I remember. I've had it for a few years now and has never gone wrong, so I doubt leaving it on standby isn't a problem unless you want to save that little bit on your power bill.

I leave it in Standby Mode forever. I don't think I've ever turned it off.
