Favorite muscle car?

what is your favorite muscle car in gt4 and why? Mine is the 1970 Plymouth superbird. Looks unique with its giant wing and with a 426 under the hood, its not exactly at the bottom of the muscle car chain.

I was sure there's already a favorite muscle car GT4 thread, but I couldn't find one.

I don't have a fave. I'd say my most useful Muscle car (American muscle) would be the Charger; that's the one I've driven in the greatest variety of races (even off-road in some Easy and Normal events),. Both Camaros are up there, too. The Chevelle is perhaps 3rd.

It pisses me off to this day that PD didn't include any '65 to '71 Mustangs (the Shelby Mustang isn't enough to satisfy me). If PD had given us some older stangs, no doubt a Boss or a '67 Fastback woulda been my favorite.

...although some don't consider Mustangs and Camaros muscle-cars. I do, but some don't.

I consider them muscle cars, although they're classified as pony cars.

My favorite would be either a '70 Dodge Challenger with the biggest engine available, or a '69 Camaro SS.

LIke Parnelli, I'm a little put off that they didn't include any standard Classic Mustangs. Otherwise I would have surely put them at the top of the list.

(I'm bias as I own a '67 hardtop)

But since they didn't, my top 3 would be:
(in no order)

'64 Pontiac GTO - The god father of all Muscle cars!!
'65 Shelby G.T. 350 (Hey, its really a Mustang, just a bit tricked out)
'70 Dodge Charger R/T - Best sounding exhaust out of all of them.

And honerable mention to the '67 Mercury Cougar. The sister car to mine.

...with a 440 under the hood...

Excuse me, WHAT under the hood? Make it the 426 Hemi and we're talking.

Very hard to pick a definite favourite so I'll make a top three too. Mopar power all round, I have to go for the Hemi duo Superbird & Super Bee and the Cuda Six Pack. All have their strong points but none of them is perfect. However, if there was a Hemi Cuda it would take the place alone.

Don't think it is considered a muscle car, but i pick the Shelby 427 SC Cobra! My all time favorite car !!!:sly:👍

ps: Hey Paulie, picking a Ford once in awhile won't hurt you!:sly: You know you want.:sly::sly:

Honestly, I love all of them. But I'll have to go with the '69 Camaro(s)...I've got a soft spot in my heart for the car. Always did like 'em.

The 'Cuda 440 for sure. I do wish it was a 340 AAR, but I'll take what I can get.:)

Yea, I know. Throw in a 302 Boss Mustang, and we can have a true Trans-Am with the Camaro Z/28 currently in the game.

I like the Cougar too, but it's a little soft. Yet another reason I wish classic 'stangs were in the game...they did the most successful racing. The Cougar was rather secondary...more of a luxury car than the 'stangs.

A little plumper too. But the car can suprisingly hold its own in the Muscle car event stock. (If i remember right that is.)

I agree. The Cougar is useful. It's not an atrocity...just a little soft. Also, I remember awhile back trying to drift a bunch of American muscle. The Cougar was one of those that didn't do so as readily, although it's not impossible either.

I prefer the Jenson Interceptor. In the game it has a 440, and something about it vaguely reminds me of an older Aston Martin DB7. Its handling isn't that bad and makes a pretty good drifter with few modifications. I've even come to enjoy the massive body roll and dive; the rear tends to squat a lot under acceleration too.

mine would have to be the shelby mustang 350R and shelby cobra i am biased towards fords cuz they are my fav cars but i also like the charger r/t

Corvettes aren't considered "muscle cars". :P:) They've always been considered sports cars by definition because they have 2 seats and are supposed to be more performance-oriented overall, even tho they often have poor handling. Here, read this link. Well, not the link, but the page it leads to:

http://www.musclecarclub.com/musclecars/general/musclecars-definition.shtml

And this quote especially: Two Seat Sports Cars:

Two seat sports cars such as the Chevrolet Corvette and the Ford Thunderbird are not considered muscle cars due to their high price and specialty nature. The only exception is the AMC AMX as it was relatively cheap, and was based on the AMC Javalin pony car.

Examples: AMC AMX, etc.

...can't believe the jackass who wrote that page spelled "Javelin" wrong.

Oh, sorry, I thought it was because I once read Motor Trend March '08, It said modern muscle cars and the corvette was there.

Some of the cars here aren't muscle cars also, but pony cars. I say they all should be accepted.

My favourite is the Plymouth Superbird. Not precisely the best handling one of the lot, but the most satisfactory one to win with. 👍

Yea I know, it's very subjective. Personally, I'm not very strict about my definition, although I still say the Corvette is in a different class.
