Favorite muscle car?

I prefer the Cobra. It's light weight and its very fun when you turn off traction control...at least in GT3. I can't remember what it was like in GT4...

I was sure there's already a favorite muscle car gT4 thread, but I couldn't find one.

I don't have a fave. I'd say my most useful Muscle car (American muscle) would be the Charger; that's the one I've driven in the greatest variety of races (even off-road in some Easy and Normal events),. Both Camaros are up there, too. The Chevelle is perhaps 3rd.

It pisses me off to this day that PD didn't include any '65 to '71 Mustangs (the Shelby Mustang isn't enough to satisfy me). If PD had given us some older stangs, no doubt a Boss or a '67 Fastback woulda been my favorite.

...although some don't consider Mustangs and Camaros muscle-cars. I do, but some dont'.

Or 68-72 Nova, my favorite muscle car hands down, thats why I had a 69 and a 70:)

Ah man, I'm way too late to even start in GT4 with GT5 coming out so soon. I gave my PS2 away to a kid that didn't have much as far as toys and such goes just to help him out a bit anyways. I grew up poor and in section 8 and such as you know so when I can give something to someone that I know what they have to go through everyday just to get by I try to. I did those last drift videos for GT3 and retired, then gave it all away the next week. I really didn't like the way the cars sort of "rubber banned" or under steered on GT4 anyways, not very realistic. Soon as we get back on our feet well I'm getting me another project car and then I can post my GT5 drift videos along side my real life ones:sly:

Yea, you should just move onto GT5, then. The professional mode allows one to get sideways alot easier than GT4's mode ever did, but I was jsut curious to see what you could do with 4 because it's a pretty tough game to drift 90% of the cars.

Truly, I love them all, but since that isn't a terribly helpful post, I'll agree that the Charger has the softest spot in my heart, being my first car and all that. Love the Buick Special and GNX (Muscle Hybrid? :D) as well. But the Charger has some of the best packaging points, with excellent full-range power, a decent exhaust note, good handling, and earth-shattering accelleration. (A stock one goes 0-60 in 4.6 in the game. Who knew?)

Cheers,
Jetboy

So then what's the best *handling* muscle car in GT4?

I've yet to get to the Merkin events, but the Merchelle XR-7 (or something) I tried so far drove like a boat - don't like the whale-like handling of most muscle cars (like Clarkson said, plenty of muscle but no idea about cornering). Which one would be the most atypical of that then?
(And if there is none with decent handling, I guess I'd have to go MOPAR?)

(Personally, I'd consider the '69 Vette Stingray I got a while ago a 'light' muscle car, since it has horsepower - 350BHP+ will do me - and a big whopper of an engine at 5L, which could go up to 600 BHP if tuned, sounds like 'nuff muscle to me. Don't know if it'll enter in the GT4 muscle events though...)

I am biased to the '70 SS Chevelle. It's what I grew up with. You just can't beat rowing through the gears of a big block and a four speed.
