Ferrari Enzo (a.k.a. FX)

Okay, I've never seen a Ferrari I didn't like. Or wish to own. But this new Ferrari supercar, the "Enzo" (a.k.a. FX), is one of the ugliest cars ever made. Very ugly. I would expect a little more (because you pay a lot more) from Ferrari's design staff. When I saw the first pics, i figured it was to mask the design from spies and keep the public waiting/guessing.

Overall it's OK, but you can tell that someone high up in the company ordered the designers to make the nose "look like our F1 car". I'm not crazy about the door windows either.

I do like the aft end pretty well, though.

I think the front section of a car -- its face -- is probably the most important part of its design. This car's face is suffering from gigantism -- like Cher's kid in 'Mask'. While the rest of the car is actually quite good, not much is in proportion up front. However, I have no doubts about its abilities, not unlike an F1 car. Come to think of it, wasn't that their goal....

whats wrong with making it look like an f1 car I think it looks kinda cool. But yeah the door windows look like they came from a light aircraft.

well it looks good cost 650,000 dollars has 650HP and goes 220MPH top speed so overall: 75% shave off 25% for the cost of the car

when ferrari make a new car is better than the last.

the f-40 is one of the most exotic car ever made.
the f-50 is one nobody of us can't buy ( even if you have the money for it )
f-50 numbers:
0 to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds.
0 to 100 mph in 8.0 seconds.
quarter of mille in 12.1@124.5.
top speed n/a according to ferrari ( a few mag zes in 200+ )
motor v-12 513 bhp

may you like the mclaren,but the mc.never have the beauty,grace,and handling of the f-50.

i sed theperformance is everything:the mac is only have more top speed but the performance of f-50 is better than mc.

Are you on crack :reallyodd :reallyodd The Mclaren has a lighter chassis, a more solid chassis, better handling better 0-60-0.

There was quite a good piece in our local car mag, 'Wheels' , which had some photos of it from various angles (including a really interesting overhead shot). I must admit the shape is starting to grow on me - it's certainly not attractive from some angles, but I'm certainly finding it less 'objectionable'.

the mac. in straigh line allways beat the f-50,but in the corner it was to slow.

mc. is 137 feet from 60 -0
f-50 is 136 feet from 60 -0

CAR had the same shots this month, and it definately has its better angles. From the top, it looks like every other supercar, but from the back 3/4 view, it looks awesom. The front 3/4 view isn't that bad either.

i've read somewhere that it accelerates just as fast as the Ferrari F1 car!!!!!....now that'll pin 'ya in your seat! :ferrari: ROCKS!!!!

Not quite... The F1 car with almost twice the HP and half the weight.

Oh, I don't doubt the performance of the car. It's probably the closest thing to an F1 car that the 300-400 buyers will ever get to drive; save the country-club set that just pose with the darn thing. Yes, I know it's got all sorts of F1-inspired designs into it. I know Ferrari has 4 striaght Constructor's titles...

...but my vote still says it's ugly.

That's just it: The McLaren is better -- overall. It was built as a cost-no-object, road-legal track racer. There are some that are faster, some that corner harder, some that may even look better (for whatever that's worth), but as a performance car, the McLaren comes in either 1st or 2nd in every category. Everything else so far is a compromise in one regard or another. There are numerous reviews, reports, and analysis to back this up, the current issue of EVO a good example. Others:
