How many people will buy a 430 CS and actually take it to track days?

How many will just buy it to show off?

How many people who are going to buy a 430 CS really care about rowing their own anymore?

I think the stick purists never really went for Ferrari anyways, they have never had the most amazing manuals last I heard, that was the Honda Civic/S2000 and BMW 3 series realm.

I would actually think that not many posers would get a CS, it's just way too uncomfortable. But then again people buy 911 GT3's to take their kids to school...

Maybe, but to helps the car shift faster, and to make it easier on the driver which will acuire faster lap times, paddle shifters are the obvious choice.

With paddles, it allows the driver to keep both hands on the wheel at all times. Not to mention, moving the stick around the H-Shifter Lay out takes more time than necessary.
then they should at least offer both transmissions.

It's Ferrari! What part of RACE-BRED do you not understand?

It's going to be made so you'll be able to use it the same way a F430 Challenge and that means including everything the race car has.

While sucking out all the fun when you're driving, which the car was meant to do, imo.

Well, I can't say you are completely wrong, but you arent completely right either. You have to keep in mind that across the pond, it is the land of F1, not the NASCAR-driven US. Technologies are different, and Ferrari belives that the F1 setup is the way to go to keep the F430 better related to the car Shuey et. al pilot on the weekend...

I prefer a true manual myself if the option is given, but Ferrari undoubtedly has the best gearbox setup available in the vein of F1-inspired design.

...Just think, it is because of North America that BMW will offer a true 6-speed manual in the M5 and M6 later this year... Someone over at NASCAR must be on the phone to F1 telling them to suck eggs!

The F1 style shifter in the GTi was pretty sweet when I drove it, made driving much more fun. Granted it wasn't a true paddle shifter but it was still a good concept.

Styling-wise, the 360 was near perfection. Automotive beauty in one of its truest forms. By comparison, the F430 just looks like a half-baked fusion between a 360 and Enzo that was penned by an uptight German. :indiff: That black area on the rear of the car doesn't work at all like it did with the 360, and the 355 before it...

I'm sure this thing will be an excellent machine, though. And the F430's styling is gradually growing on me. :)

Found some new pics:tup:

Now, c'mon, look at the side-on view with it in Yellow; that aint bad...

...No, it is quite nice actually. I think I'll order mine in Blue Pozzi, or maybe Blue Tour De France...

Completely, totally, utterly wrong. Especially about the Honda box being better. I'd rate the Ferrari as the best gearbox out there, closely followed by Porsche, then other stuff below that.

By the way, I don't know of any posers that drive Challenge Stradales, while I know of plenty that drive regular 360s. It's simply not a poser's car.

Really?

Always heard (mind you, never driven a Ferrari) that the last few Ferrari sticks were kind of rubbery and vague, requiring a bit too much effort.

Whereas everytime you read about an S2000, or Civic, or BMW, or Miata shifter it's always with the words "extremely positive feel" or "snick snick" or "rifle bolt" type stuff.

The only Ferraris I've driven have had stick shifts except for 2 360 models.

And while I agree the stick gives a it a much more sports car feel, Ferrari does whatever can to make sure its cars can be fast around the track, esp. the race-descendants.

...The one thing that bothers me about Ferrari manual transmissions: The gated shifter...

Not that it is bad, it is just awkward going from a regular car to a setup like that...

This an the all so uber fast enzo FXX, are by far the great FERRARIS ever made. Not the greatest car ever made but the best ferraris! None the less, the paddle shifting does take away the feeling you get from slamming the gears. It faster but im going to side with you on this one YSSMAN:indiff:

The only Ferrari I've actually had seat time in was a 308, so my view may be a bit different. I've only had the pleasure to sit in a 360, but to no drive/ride...
