I don't have unlimited money, but I do have the 250 GT (which I bought earlier). And I will get the others someday. It might require some plugging away but...I'd like to drive those cars for sure. They're very beautiful, and it would be enjoyable.

I love the 330 P4 and have never properly raced it, but it's a 20mil car. Looks like a few already have the 250 GT so we can plan on racing that the final week, for those who have it. Should give everyone several weeks to save up.

I think I enjoyed driving the Mark IV the best out of the 3 in GT5. I would relish the opportunity to drive the P4 again though. I really think we should do it. With lots and lots of advance warning!

We would race it on SS of course, it's actually quite good on them.

Heh, it was a bit of a handful. It did have downforce (just like the others in GT5) but it was quite a bit lighter. The lighter the cars were in GT5, the harder they were to drive usually. Around 1000kg was a good weight (in terms of control). Of course they shouldn't have even close to the downforce they do have. Just might have to start grinding those Red Bull events sometimes...

^ I wonder if that could be due to the new aerodynamic model. I always felt the aero was a bit weak in GT5, but in GT6 you can really tell when you're in a car with downforce. I can't say which is more accurate, but I enjoy GT6's model more.

As I said in the Senna thread, I'm disappointed PD didn't go the extra mile (or do much at all) with the kerbs, lines, surfaces, barriers and track-side objects in the "80s" tracks. But at least it'll be good to have the new layouts.

Totally agree. I was sad to see the modern buildings... but not in the least bit surprised.

At least the changes to the Monza layout are somewhat substantial. Curva Grande and Lesmos in particular are much more enjoyable now. Feels great having the outside barriers so much closer. 👍

You're right, with Monza they did make a bit of an effort, but Brands Hatch is basically what Brands would currently be if the circuit owners preserved the circuit's 80s profile to the present. The look is 100% modern.

^ That's very disappointing to hear... :guilty:

I was hoping that nostalgic feel to theses tracks, but that's not gonna happen now!

None of that bothers me much at all, I'm just happy to have them! I won't have time to check anything out until this evening so feel free to share/discuss any fun stuff here so I can at least read about it, especially anything that we could use with the Ferrari's. 👍

That F3! Got to have a few races in that :D, someone better host a series with it on GTP haha! Looking forward to these single seaters, the tracks not so much, I'll be giving them a blast in a bit and report back with my thoughts.

And wow is that Mitsubishi concept thing ugly!

I just had a blast around 80's Monza in the F3, sounds great but offline on racing tires it was meh. Putting some sports tires on it should sort it out. :sly:

I'm considering doing a series where we do two weeks in the kart, two weeks in the F3, two weeks in the Lotus, and then maybe end with a NSX around Suzuka, kind of working our way through his career. 👍

I don't even have enough money to buy the GTO!
Hope I have time to save up and practice before Tuesday race.

Rumor is, there's a Red Bull challenge that pays handsomely (if you can tolerate driving those "cars"). The GT Academy rounds pay nicely if you have your login bonus up, and I think the new Senna events pay some decent coin too. Hopefully you can manage to scrape together enough scratch to acquire a lovely Mustache-Mobile. 👍

I just had a good session with all the new open-wheel things, all were pretty good fun! I like how the kart seems to be less effected by an air resistance brick wall than the other karts which means you don't seem to hit the limiter so often in places like Tsukuba - it does understeer a bit though, less twitchy than the others for sure.

I was completely underwhelmed at first with the F3 at Brands (strange, I love that place) - the RH tires are pretty useless on it, I switched to SH and still didn't really rate it, I then moved to Suzuka with CS tires and it really came alive, spectacular thing there and easily the most fun I had of the three new cars.

The Lotus F1 was also a pleasant surprise, I'm utterly useless with high downforce cars usually but this went fairly well at Spa, I found the default RH tires to work best with it. One odd thing I found was the front tires seemed to really be doing too much work at slow/medium speeds and far too much work under braking even with a 10/1 rear bias! Visually the front tires vastly thinner than the rear, but even still I feel this is a bit extreme; even so, it was still a good laugh 👍.

Thanks Brandon! I will definitely check it out this weekend.

Quick question, all the cars are raced stock correct?
So just exterior alternations are allowed such as wheels and spoilers?

Only wheels (any size) and paint. Spoilers will cause you to not meet regulations under the "tuning prohibited" setting.

How different is the old Monza? Haven't had a chance to download it yet.

Well, judging by the amount of bitching out in the general population it isn't different enough. I only had a couple laps around it this morning but I like the configuration a whole lot better and think it would produce splendid racing. At Monza (apparently not at Brands) they did make minor changes to the surrounding area, most of the runoff areas are gone and the walls are rather close to the track, and the big brake marker signs are gone. The first complex of chicanes is far better than the previous T1 chicane and the Lesmos are, IMO, a lot more enjoyable now. I'm quite happy with it, it's not earth-shakingly different and not as good as it could have been, but I'm happy with any new options and I think this version will be much better/cleaner/more enjoyable for racing. 👍
